Massive strength and careful engineering make it the finest hand-turned mill in the world
The Diamant is easily the finest mill we've tested. After analyzing dozens of mills, this one emerged head and shoulders above the rest. It is beautiful, high performing and, since it is made entirely of cast iron, it will far outlast lighter aluminum mills. Equally at home in the farmer's barn cracking bushels of corn for livestock or in the baker's kitchen milling fine flour for delicate pastries.
- Grinds fast and fine
- Grinds virtually anything (without need of additional augers)
- Easy to use
- Solid cast iron - Built to last with little maintenance!
- Quality-made in Poland
Note: Due to the current exchange rate with Poland, we have been forced to raise the price on the Diamant Grain Mills.
Thousands sold world-wide since 1920!
Unique Pre-Grinding System for Superior Results- Only the Diamant has it! Several blunt pre-grinding "teeth" gently crack grain. When it gets to the auger it's perfectly prepared for a smoother, more even grind. Competitor models use an impractical spring arrangement that's not nearly as effective and completely lacks the elegant engineering of the Diamant.
Grinds fast and fine - Extra large burrs churn out flour as fine as store-bought 20% faster and much more easily than any other hand-turned mill on the market.
Grinds virtually anything - Corn, beans and most oily materials can be ground without using a special auger. Grinds all grains, many spices, legumes, beans, nuts (except peanuts) and seeds without changing burrs! Make flour, meal, coffee, sesame tahini, cereal or animal feed. Specially engineered iron/steel burrs can grind just as fine as other mills' stone burrs and eliminates stone grit in your flour.
Easy to use:
- Big V-belt flywheel is made of solid cast iron, not aluminum. Adds momentum to the turning action, rotates smoothly and makes it easy to motorize.
- Adjusts quickly and easily from powder-fine to coarse.
- Long wooden handle lets you use two hands for more leverage. Or share the work with a friend (face each other). Grinding is much easier - and more fun - with two people!
- Bushing/sealed bearings eliminate maintenance - never need to be oiled!
Built to last - This mill hearkens to an earlier time when things were built to outlast their owner and be passed on to the next generation. Solid cast iron mill is one of the heaviest hand mills in the world. Non-toxic green finish with gold trim, force-feeding worm auger pre-cracks grains, three kinds of burrs add versatility, one-year warranty.
Weight/Dimensions- 58 lb, 16" V-belt pulley, 5-1/4"OD machined iron burrs, 14"H

Diamant Grain Mill
Item#: 525
"This mill was one of my most prized possessions. As an avid home bread baker I relished the flavor that freshly ground wheat made in my loaves. It was extremely easy to use and was also a lovely addition to my kitchen. Alas - I loaned it to a friend who was starting a goat enterprise with his new family as I felt they had a more important use for it. It ended up with the ex-wife when they split and I'll never see it again. When I bought it it was closer to $500. sigh... If you can, get it! It's beautifully made and a wonder to work with!"

"My family has used this grain mill for over 10 years. It is one of those products that is more than one expects. It works well and little maintenance other than a little grease on the thrust bearing. "

Diamant Grain Mill
Item#: 525
"I recently purchased the Diamant Grain Mill with no prior experience milling my own wheat. Wow- what a difference in the quality of my bread! The taste, texture, & nutritional value of my bread improved instantly. Moreover, the simple (albeit very physical) act of grinding my own wheat enriches the quality of the cooking experience and enhances my personal connection to the food I eat. This surprised me.
I selected the Diamant following a period of extensive internet research on the subject. Most, if not all sources agreed that the Diamant is at the head of the class. I assure you that it is correct. The construction of the appliance is extremely sturdy, the operation is both ingenious and uncomplicated, and the flour I've produced from it is beyond compare. The mill is heavy and it absolutely requires a sturdy base of operation; do not attempt to use this from a flimsy modern tabletop. I mount mine on my workbench. Although the user-guide was rather spare, I found that I really didn’t need more direction.
If you think that the $1300 price tag is too rich for your blood, I encourage you to think again. This product is worth that hefty price tag. Make no mistake, a purchase of a Diamant is a purchase of an heirloom tool your family will fight over long after you’ve kicked the bucket. "
