Building a Better Butter Churn

Dazey Butter Churn
Available at Lehmans.com or Lehman’s in Kidron, Ohio.

Lehman’s butter churn was already the best on the market. Friction-free, self-lubricating gears, strong cast alloy frame and made in the USA quality guaranteed that!

But, we still weren’t satisfied.

So, we spent over a year studying butter churn technology (yes, Virginia, there really is such a thing as “butter churn technology”). We tried to unlock the secrets, many long forgotten, of making good butter at home. We tested, then tinkered with the design, then tested again.

Our goal: To have the best supply of butter making equipment on the web!

The result? Our new butter churn makes butter nearly 20% faster, is more durable, safer and more sanitary. Only glass and stainless steel touch your cream and butter!

We enlarged the paddle, adding strategically placed holes and curved fins to boost velocity, turbulence and centrifugal force. To let you see the churn in action, we cranked it with water inside. See how it looks in the video below.

Now compare that to the churning action in our original model.

The new lid is three times stronger. Now made of stainless steel, it will never rust. And, there’s nothing like sanitary stainless steel to give you complete peace of mind.

Our new jar is nearly three times heavier. It’s stronger and less likely to break. It’s an exact copy of the jar used on many antique Dazey churns. Want to revive that antique Dazey churn with the missing jar? If the lid of your churn is 5″ in diameter, this jar is guaranteed to fit or your money back.

At Lehman’s, our goal is to be the best supplier of historical technology. Sometimes that means building a better churn. Other times, it means finding a way to help you resurrect your old butter churn.

One way we do that is by conducting careful research in our laboratory, which is a fancy name for the shed behind our store in Ohio. It’s fashionable to refer to product development laboratories as “skunkworks.” I’m not sure why they call them that, but I can testify that we have skunks lurking in the nearby woods and farm fields!

At any rate, here’s a video report on our new churn from inside that laboratory:

We have a simple idea: To provide you with Authentic Products that Work for Your Life. My promise to you? We won’t ever stop trying to improve our products, service and quality.

I wish you’d make your mini butter churn with the same design and materials. I won’t buy cheap plastic
