"I purchased a few bars to try it out. The scent is very strong of smoky tar (no noticeable pine scent). The scent was too unpleasant for my family to leave in the shower, so back to Lehman's they go. It may be great soap, but be prepared for a strong and possibly unpleasant scent. Sorry Lehman's for not providing a more positive review. "

"This Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap has something of a fragrance that will linger. I don't find it overly strong or displeasing, but it is somewhat unusual. It does a very good job at controlling body odor when deoderants aren't used - even during heavy sweating. I used a bar for bathing only and noticed it lasted much longer than other soaps. I've just purchased more as this is a good soap that cleans well and doesn't irritate my skin. It also does seem to lesson dry skin irritation problems."

"This soap is very strong at cleaning but has a VERY strong scent. My husband cleans chimneys for a living and comes home black as tar with creosote smell, he showers with this soap and it gets him clean. But, the odor of the soap is much like the creosote he's trying to wash off. The smell does go down the drain and he comes out clean, but he doesn't like the smell while washing. "

"Soap works great. It took care of my dry skin in a short amount of time. Went camping after I started using it and I was the only one not combating mosquitoes. I can't say I am as much a fan of the smell as others seem to be. It is pretty strong. My family can't stand it so I am not "allowed" to keep it in the shower."

"I've only started using it but it seems to be helping clear up a rash from some medicine I had been on, I lather and leave it on for about 5 min before washing it off,its calming the itch of it. I love it for that."

"I do not write many comments but when a product is this fantastic I have to let others know that will listen. My son has had an ongoing problem with dandruff and dry sensitive skin. I bought his first bars of pine tar soap 3 or 4 years ago and now he will not use anything else.. works great and believe me he has used every thing on the market to no avail. He hoards the soap when he is getting low."

"This soap is awesome. It works as an every day soap on grease, grime, dirt, ect,. Good for your skin in the shower for every day use. I have heard some complain about the scent of this soap. I rather enjoy it. It has a woodsy, smoky type smell. Its clean, masculine, and light. If you have a skin problem give it try. All it takes is 1 bar and your a believer. "

"I have Acne-prone skin; I learned early on to use non-comedogenic soap, as "oily-like" soaps with lanolin & other oils, quickly broke my skin out. To the rescue came Grandpa's Pine Tar soap! I even use it to wash my hair -- I come out all squeaky clean & smelling like the mountain air! Couldn't recommend it more!! The purest soap I know of, and the the most "eco-green," bath partner! Thanks Grandpa!!!!"

"My golfing buddies are constantly attacked by black flies, midges, horse flies, etc., while I just keep whistling and smiling while these critters attack them and their scores while I just keep golfin' bug-free!! Ha ha!!! They are so thick headed that they can't believe it works. They will come around eventually!!! But I'm in no rush to press them!!!"

"Fantastic product. The first time I used the soap it removed a stain on my skin caused by a chemical I used several years ago. Now my hands are a more natural color. "
