"I've used the "juniors" at my camp in NH for probably 10 or more years. I usually light up 5 or 6 of them for decorative purposes instead of tiki torches. I use kerosene in mine and other than cleaning have had no issues with them. Wish you had more color selections than just black and blue."

"I’m rather disappointed in my Jupiter. But I love my Blizzard which I ordered at the same time. The smaller Blizzard (also Dietz) gives off more heat. The Jupiter’s knob is so difficult to adjust – I have to use a rubber jar opening to turn the thing. The Blizzard’s knob is easy. Also, as I’m struggling to get the knob turned on the Jupiter, the lever for raising the glass globe is in the way, making it even more frustrating. It should be on the other side. I bought the Jupiter to warm my hoop house, as apparently that’s what it was originally designed for. But I take my Blizzard out instead, or sometimes both. Now I have to decide if it’s worth it to return it. Maybe I just got a bad one."

"Just as nice as the Dietz Air Pilot I purchased from Lehman's last year - and once again very well packaged and undamaged. Both my Jupiter and Air Pilot are blue and provide long burn times for a tank of fuel. This Jupiter just holds around twice as much fuel for an even longer burn time. Just be careful of the glass globe on the Jupiter. I removed mine to clean it and was immediately stabbed by a needle fine sliver of glass - that was difficult to see and remove using tweezers. It appears the globe was formed by heating a continuous glass fiber strand on a machine. The globe is uniform, but the end of the glass fiber was sticking out - and stabbed and broke off fully embedded in my hand before I saw it. On close inspection, I could see where the 1/2 inch glass fiber had separated off of the globe. So, be very careful the first time you handle the globe. The globe on my Air Pilot looks to have been made by a different process, and had nothing to cut or stab me."

"For use in a pump house during power outage (or anytime) to keep things from freezing up. Easier than continuous checking if the light bulb is on. Use in the barn during foaling to keep the newborn warmer, and puts a light to soothe the mother. Good for prepping too, and for "in case of"."

"This lantern is AMAZING,It gives off 12-14 CP of light and a tank that never seems to run out of fuel, Very easy to maintain and I also burn Aladdin Lamp Oil,that stuff is incredible no smell even after 6-8 hours of burning. The only issue is the burner wick adjustment it is very stiff so what I did was SNAPPED a pair of vice grips on the adjuster and made it flat so you have more EASE on turning it( like the FEUERHAND adjuster)OVERALL LOVE IT AND DEFINITELY RECOMMEND."

"I was looking for something to heat my greenhouse and read the reviews on this and thought I'd give it a try. It works great for what I bought it for. Of course it will come in handy for power outages. "

"Four years ago, I ordered two of the Jupiter lanterns (blue). I was so pleased with their quality and performance that I ordered two more this past month. The lanterns are well-constructed, durable, and easy to maintain. I use the lanterns for camping, for illumination when I am working outdoors late at night, or during power outages. The lanterns produce abundant, flicker-free light, even in gusty wind conditions. I use Aladdin lamp oil, which seems to prolong the wick life and minimize wick maintenance. Lehman's packs the shipment exceptionally well. The lanterns arrive in perfect condition. When lighting the lantern, I do assist the chimney assembly by gently pulling upward on the tab located at the top. This minimizes stress on the lever that is used to lift the chimney. I use a small household funnel to fill the lantern. I highly recommend the Jupiter lantern."

"The Lantern (we got a blue one) arrived well packed and double boxed. The finish and fit were good, considering what it is. Burns brightly, and holds a LOT of fuel. My only complaints are #1... the fill port is VERY close to the burner assembly, making the use of a funnel difficult, I'd suggest making a clear tubing + Funnel rig to make it easier to fill. #2... The lever to lift the Chimney assembly is soft metal and even though it was treated gently it has bent some... Use the Top ring combined with the lever to avoid this problem."
