"I have this blue one as well a Black and Gold. The plain blue looks great with the sterling color trim and the lamp is great for display and lighting. A good choice for general camping use or for atmosphere in the home."

"I've been using a Dietz Blizzard for over 10 years, camping as many as 10-15 times yearly. It has also been used at home during power outages. It continues to serve well. This is probably one of the best lanterns in the Dietz line."

"Wonderful lantern! I use this regularly when fishing at night. It provides plenty of light and is incredibly easy to use and maintain. I have used it also when the electricity has gone out during winter storms. Definitely worth the price. I highly recommend this item. I have just ordered a second because of the good quality and efficient/effective usability."

"Wonderful value, and hats off to your packing and shipping staff. I'm sure if they had included a carton of raw eggs in the package, they would have gotten through without a crack. Best packing I have ever seen."

"Not bad at all for the price, can leak a very small amount around the fill cap area when used on walks if it has more than about half a tank of fuel- the directions do warn of similar reasons to not fill above 85% capacity, I am using Aladdin oil in mine and it gets great light output. Very pleased with the amount of light from this one. However, Aladdin oil seems to have a thinner viscosity than kerosene and I need to try some kero in this to see if it does the same thing but it seems Aladdin oil can wick itself up the fuel cap somehow when a little gets sloshed up into that area- it's not a big deal because the lantern would leak anyway through the burner if it was overturned, but a good reason to not fill the reservoir too full, also it weighs a lot less half full! If it had a better fuel cap on it I would give a 5 rating, otherwise a 4 and a good value. I use this daily or should I say nightly, for general purpose lighting on the farm, walks to the swamp at night, indoors when the power is out and sometimes just for a change of pace or for relaxation. All in all it's the best light you can buy for the price and I am buying more Dietz lanterns for the farm."

"We run 40 lanterns for walking tours of a historic site, half Dietz (mostly Blizzard), half Champion. Like the more expensive Champions, the Blizzards are easy to light, stay lit in any weather, throw a respectable amount of light, are easy to clean, and look great--a good value. We just bought another dozen. They will rust where paint chips off, but otherwise hold up well to hard use. Be sure to pick up an extra globe and filler cap."

"People usually praise Champion lantern and I guess for right reason. However, one of them, which I bought recently (not at Lehman’s) was quite leaky. Now this much cheaper lantern does work as well as its famous brother. The finish and overall appearance of Dietz lantern oozes quality, it doesn’t look cheap even though it’s priced as one. One more thing, it does burn fuel completely, you barely smell an odor of burned substance. Very good lantern, and by the way, the service at Lehman’s is exemplary. The first sample of Blizzard Dietz I got had faulty burner, now since burners were out of stock at a store at that time, they sent me completely new lantern for exchange."

"Just purchased 2 Dietz Blizzard Hurricane Lanterns. Another excellent product, large fuel capacity. This lantern surprisingly gave off a really great light. I have ordered a variety of Dietz lanterns and have found the larger globes and wick sizes give the brightest light equal to about a 60 watt bulb. I will be ordering more..."
