"Great waffles!!! It took us a couple of tries to get it seasoned right, and realize that on our gas stove we needed to move it around a bit to more evenly distribute the heat while cooking. But now we'll never go back to electricity-guzzling, toxic teflon-coated waffle makers. This takes a little more skill, but everything worth doing does! And it will last forever!"

"I purchased this cast iron waffle iron for emergency use when electricity was out. I use it all the time now; stove top, on top of the wood stove and camping. I pre-seasoned it before it's first use and waffles slide right out. They are nice and crisp and the pan is heavy duty. A great buy."

"I LOVE this iron. I bought it so that I could stop wasting money on frozen waffles, and it has proven a good investment. I seasoned it as the instructions said, and it works PERFECTLY! I use a spray of cooking spray before each waffle, and it comes right out. Plus, I can make them whole wheat like I like them. I make some batter and keep it in the fridge so we can have waffles whenever we want. GREAT PURCHASE!!!! Couldn't be happier with it."

"Like so many others on here, getting started with this was a bit rough. I really wish the handles were longer for use on a gas stove...which makes me hesitate to try it over a camp fire. You have to learn to lift it up & apart a bit before bending in open...other than that fairly easy to use. Not thrilled with it but not too disappointed. One less gadget to plug in & sit on the counter!"

"We ordered this item about two months ago, and we love it! Slim enough to fit in the cabinet with the other pans, easy to use, and super easy to clean once seasoned. Two months in, and the pieces are nearly black with regular use. I did season immediately upon receipt, but also have continued to spray a little cooking spray each time to help the process along. I preheat both sides, and keep two (gas stove) burners going, so that both sides stay hot even when opened. I've recommended this pan to all my family and friends."

"A great alternative if you are trying to avoid teflon, but making waffles with this iron without sticking is proving to be challenging. Too bad it didn't come already seasoned."

"Just dust the pan with Pam before pouring in the waffle mix, and the waffles will fall right out when done."
