"Love these!!! I have both the 1/2 Liter and 1 Liter jars. Bought my first jars about 4 years ago. We use them to can up our juice we harvest each year. Whenever we have guests over we bring out a bottle or two to share. They are always a hit. I've found the rubber gaskets can be reused several times. We've loved these so much we've been back to purchase more and even purchased other similar jars. I ending up discovering that I prefer the gasket/clamps over mason/ball lids. The only hint you may need is, for canning the 1 Liter jars (these jars are tall), make sure you have a tall enough pot to process in."

"These are excellent for CANNING. The lids won't seal without vacuum packing, though--DON'T try to use this as a water bottle for daily use. For canning purposes, the Weck jars/bottles are superior, cheaper in the long run than single-use canning lids. "

"I honestly do not care for the way the lids are secured to the top. One thing I use them for is water bottles that I transport back and forth to work daily. They go in my backpack. I think I was expecting the kind of lid that is secured by a clamp, kind of like most glass canisters are secured (a clamp that attaches to the jar on one side and then clasps on to secure the other side. the clamps just seem kind of flimsy and not real secure. To me, I do not like that they are secured with 2 metal brackets that can easily come off if it is not packed just right and you do not move just right and make a big mess. Aside from this, I do like the jars."
