"I bought this with pretty high hopes. Well, the fruit flies can get in and out of the holes and lay eggs in the pail. I had an infestation ! Not good for indoor use."

"Very light. Plastic insert. Smaller than metal ones nowhere near as robust. For the price i was a little disheartened but product itself is good."

"perfect size and well built. Lehman's has sold top quality products to me for the past 20 years and did not fall short on quality on this compost pail either. It is thicker than the one Amazon sells with a better filtration system. "

"So far I love this compost pail as the filter blocks out the smells. My only suggestion is to make the stainless steel matte so the finger prints on the pail do not display easily."

"I love this compost pail. I bought the bamboo pail. I like the inner lining very much; it's so easy to empty out and clean. I expected that only the bamboo pail itself would have a carrying handle, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the liner also has a handle. Very well made; sturdy and beautiful. I can't speak for how well the bugs will stay out since it's autumn now, but the lid is tight-fitting and there are two filters in the lid, so I don't think bugs will be much of an issue in the summer."

"We purchased the pail a year ago; it sits on our kitchen counter- and gets alot of use daily. It is attractive and well made. Very easy to empty and clean and the filters do a wonderful job. There is no odor - the filters take care of that."

"We've only had the compost pail a few weeks, but so far we love it. It really does hold quite a bit and it really does not smell. We used to have fruit flies when we had a small, open receptacle for our compost, which we emptied every day. Since we started using the compost pail we don't have to empty it every day and we don't seem to have fruit flies. Of course, the fruit flies could have gone away because the summer weather is ending and fall weather is starting - cooler temps. I don't know if fruit flies are seasonal or not. Anyway, we really like our compost pail so far."
