"Fantastic product! I dabble in pseudo-prepping for emergencies and purchased two of these lanterns. Normally my wife scoffs at my emergency preparedness purchases, but when she came home from work, she immediately commented on the beauty of this lantern! The gold and black are create a charming and classic look. The D-Lite lantern has a bright, symmetrical feather-shaped flame and the build quality was great. No leaks, the wick adjuster was smooth, and the globe raising lever worked great. I look forward to using this on many camping trips and have no doubts on how well it will do its job. Lehman's did an outstanding job packing my shipment- as if they treated every order as their own! Thanks for a great product at a great price!"

"This is an excellent lamp for the money well worth it. We had a smaller Dietz lantern one during the 8 days of power outage in October of 2011 and that little lamp threw more light then out bigger lanterns so we decided to invest into a larger Dietz lantern and it is great so we are not ready for the next storm."

"This lantern is as well made as it is attractive. I've bought several to use outside with citronella oil. The glass globe is particularly thick and sturdy and easy to clean."

"Dietz lanterns are excellent quality oil lamps. I have used them for over 10 years and will continue to do so. D-Lite puts out an excellent light, large fluid capacity. Easy to operate. The only draw back is these lanterns are getting harder and harder to find. Thank you Lehmans!!! I will be placing several orders... Highly recommend Dietz.."

"These lanterns are terrific! The price is extraordinarily reasonable for the quality. They are just perfect for positioning around the yard and hot tub ... so much so, I'm tempted to order another half dozen! Thanks, Lehman's ... it's so nice to be able to rely on your high standards to shop with confidence."

"This is my favorite dietz so far for an all around lantern. The thing I like most about it is the globe for two reasons- first ease of cleaning, but mostly because this style of lantern is better for a walking light due to how it throws out the light. My Blizzard will throw much more light upwards which is ok and desired for some instances but slightly annoying when walking paths at night. The D- lite is very nice looking too by the way. If I could only have one lantern it would be this one."

"I received the black and gold lantern in about a week after I ordered. I have to say this is a great looking lantern! The box and protective wrapping from Lehman's was excellent! I added some Aladdin oil and the light filled the room nicely. I'm impressed and I will purchase more from Lehman's in the future. Good price for an excellent product! A"

"I rate this as slightly above average. I like it and it works well. But the over all quality I feel is too cheap. It's definitely a made in china special, but for $18 bucks you can't complain. This will be great for the occasional power outage, but maybe not durable for the long term everyday usage when the shimmit hits the fan. I don't see any safety hazards. I'm going to try the Feuerhand Lanterns from Germany and see if that quality is better. The only thing about the Feuerhand is that they are smaller lamps an may not put out as much light. The Dietz D is a larger lantern that holds a decent amount of fuel and might be a little brighter. I'm looking for higher quality for the long term off the grid experience. I'll do an review on the Feuerhand lamp once I get it. I'll compare the two in brightness, fuel burn time, quality and what ever else I see. I chose the hurricane lamps for their ruggedness and the ability to stay lite when there is wind or rain. They have a nice carry handle for walking outside."

"I made the mistake of buying 3 of these lanterns for my mountain home where weather often cuts electricity. As other users noted, cheap glass and leaky oil reservoir making it dangerous. NOT recommended at all. Wish Lehman's would not sell such cheap, made in China items."

"Purchased two of these lanterns at one time. One of them had a crack in the glass globe that was running up the center of the globe. Both lanterns had the thinnest, cheapest glass globes I have ever seen. Right off the bat, I will be replacing both globes with real GLASS globes. Put some fuel into one lantern and the fill spout to lantern body joint leaked. Now, why is there a seal on the fuel cap if the filler neck isn’t sealed? Didn’t even bother to check the other lantern. Both are made in China and are the cheapest lanterns I have ever seen. I won’t be using these fire traps! Won’t be replacing the glass either. There are just junk!"
