"I have 4 cast iron skillets and three cast iron dutch ovens. I purchased two combo cookers for my kids. If I can get them to use them as dutch ovens for chicken and roasts and fry bacon in the lid they will love them. Cast iron cookware reminds me of the pioneers and early settlers. It is simple durable and cooks better than anything else. If you have trouble with it you are doing something wrong! Keep re seasoning and cooking. I season with lard. But, I don't season often as the more you cook the better it gets. Use water to clean up. Don't use too high of heat to start. Use butter to cook eggs. Cook them at low heat. Most people feel if they pass the egg test all is well. Go to utube and watch Dave can cook. He will have you loosing all fear of cooking with cast iron. Be warned if you like cast iron cooking as much as I do you will put on a few pounds because it is so much fun and it tastes so good."

"Like the other one said, it's a great starter. Gotta get these kids interested. 2 great skillets! I bought mine in Orange,TX about 2 years ago at an old Merchantile (sp?) store that had good stuff. This is a two-for!....Mark"

"I have a slightly different version which I bought from Lehman's 5 or so years ago. It's great! This is a good beginner set, because it is so versatile. I use the skillet all the time to make eggs. No, they do not stick. Just be sure to season the cookware when it is new, and then use a small bit of non-stick spray or a little dab of shortening before each use. I also use the skillet for hamburgers or grilled-cheese sandwiches. The large dutch oven is great for roasting meat in the oven, or baking a cake or bread. This is a good investment - if you learn how to take care of cast iron, you will enjoy it for years."
