"We have been the proud owners of the older Pioneer Maid for 10+ years now and it has served our large family very well. Our 1800 s.f. home is comletely heated with this stove, and that's a lot to say here in Montana where the mornings are known to get down to -40 degrees. From the day we installed this stove we've been cooking on the surface as well as in the oven. The LARGE cooking surface adds incredible flexibility for temperature control under your pots and skillets while boiling, simmering or sautéing. The oven has put out every culinary delight from pizza to pastry with the only exception being cheesecake. The inside of the firebox is in surprisingly great shape and not showing signs of wear other than a couple of cracked firebricks. Friends that use or have used "cook stoves" are amazed and impressed at the firebox along with the overall usefulness of this stove's size. In fact, after seeing the performance of our stove these years, friends of ours recently bought your Bakers Choice after much shopping around. The economics work out well also as we have reduced our propane bill considerably since its installation, and it only takes four cords of wood per year to heat our home. The new additions to this stove could only have made a great stove better, while the new "front loading" door—which our older version does not have—I must say is a well-needed addition. My only complaint with this stove is... that I don't have a front loading door on mine. My thanks to the Stoll family, and to you Lehman's for a fine product! Anthony Pipolo"
