STEEL NUTCRACKER DESCRIPTION
"Best nut cracker I have ever used. When I was at home we had to use a hammer and it took us for ever. We used this one as soon as we got it out off the box. I was really shock to see how easy it was to use. And it was made in the good old U.S.A.!" --A Satisfied Lehman's Customer

"All I can say is WOW! Had the nutcracker out of the box and cracking black walnuts in just a couple of minutes . . ." --Kathy

"Works way better than a hammer on black walnuts. I get a lot of large nutmeats, not just chips that I have mostly got when using a hammer. It's good to put a 3-sided "shield" of cardboard about 12 inches high around the nutcracker as you work so shells don't shoot all over the room as they sometimes do. If I have trouble with cracking a nut, I just position it differently. If the nut just cracks in half without releasing the nutmeat, I crack each half. I'm very satisfied."

"Just bought this nutcracker to crack Black walnuts. We had been using a hammer to break them open on a brick, This is a wonderful tool. Effortless, heavy duty, and very well built out of tubular steel. I expect this will last me a lifetime. Takes those black walnuts down so easy, I have to hide them cause the kids are cracking them and eating them all on their own."

"I bought one of these crackers for myself for Christmas. I had used my brothers cracker is the past, it is a different make. This cracker blows his away! The only thing I might change would be to add a small return spring to the handle. It has enough leverage that when the handle drops down with your fingers in the wrong spot you can get a good hard pinch. I would definately recommend this to everyone!"

"Your nutcracker (Item# 16455) is by far and away the best nutcracker ever! We have used it for walnuts (60 lbs.), hazelnuts, and the ever-dreadful-to-crack Brazil Nuts. It is easy on the arm, reduces "incoming" shells to the barest minimum, and leaves beautiful walnut halves and uncrushed filberts. Everyone in the family now has one. It is worth every penny and more."

"We have used this nut cracker primarily for hickory nuts. It will crack most hickory nuts easily; some require a little more effort. It is well make and sturdy. I plan to add a wood handle as the metal bar is a little uncomfortable after awhile. Or you could slip a piece of tubing over the handle as well. It helps to oil it once in a while. It is strange that it is rated to last a lifetime but only guaranteed for a year. With a little care (oiling) I think it would last a lifetime."

"Husband purchased this for me as a Christmas gift. Very sturdy nutcracker! Can handle any nut. I use it mostly for pecans and it does take a little time to perfect your technique so as not to crush the meat of the nut. Highly recommend!"

"Absolutely love this nutcracker!! I bought one for my family and one for my inlaws. I purchased this nutcracker to crack small and large hickory nuts and black walnuts. Works like a dream! This nutcracker is easy to work (my young children love to use it)and the handle requires very little force. The small hickory nuts are sometimes too small to crack completely, but it cracks black walnuts with hardly any effort. I have not tried it with softer nuts since I have a basic, hand-held cracker for those. As I said, I bought this product for hickory nuts and walnuts from my yard that otherwise require a hammer to crack. I would definitely recommend this nutcracker!"

"My hard-to-buy for husband always wants nuts in the shell at Christmas time, but had bent and destroyed every other nutcracker we had. I bought this for his Christmas present (along with the usual bag of mixed nuts in the shell) and he was both surprised with the gift and very happy with it's performance. "

"My favorite nut is a hazelnut and I found this cracker has a bit of trouble with them, partly because they go down between the ridge on the lower bar. Regardless, with effort, I can crack my hazelnuts. I do love the machine, its heft, its no-nonsense appearance. I am happy with it and feel it's a bit improvement over my handheld crackers. It will be a hit at Thanksgiving. My walnut trees should start producing soon, and I'm certain this tool will help with that shelling."
