"My hard-to-buy for husband always wants nuts in the shell at Christmas time, but had bent and destroyed every other nutcracker we had. I bought this for his Christmas present (along with the usual bag of mixed nuts in the shell) and he was both surprised with the gift and very happy with it's performance. "

"My favorite nut is a hazelnut and I found this cracker has a bit of trouble with them, partly because they go down between the ridge on the lower bar. Regardless, with effort, I can crack my hazelnuts. I do love the machine, its heft, its no-nonsense appearance. I am happy with it and feel it's a bit improvement over my handheld crackers. It will be a hit at Thanksgiving. My walnut trees should start producing soon, and I'm certain this tool will help with that shelling."

"I was hesitant to buy this nut cracker, because it had almost no reviews for macadamia nuts. However, I am completely satisfied. A wonderful investment. Well made, and really uses minimal force for cracking. We have cracked several gallons of macadamia nuts in just our leisure time over Christmas. Would recommend to anyone!"

"Wow! I bought this for my mother who wanted a super duper nut cracker she could use without fatiguing her hands. This has been great. We are still figuring out how to crack the nut without crushing it a bit.. In any case, the other good point is although it looks a bit medieval, it doesn't pinch fingers and the movement of the lever is very gentle and steady. It effortlessly crunches walnuts, pecans.. "

"This is the best and last nutcracker you will ever buy. Extremely easy to use, and does not damage the nut meat. I plowed through 10 pounds of filberts and a box of walnuts very quickly. So easy and fast. Don't waste your time with any other nutcracker."

"Wow! This works great- very easy to use! Even a 4 yr old can use it (we tried! - under supervision). It's much better than using a hammer & anvil. One caveat - be careful to not go too fast and smash the nut. It's great that it is built in the USA! "

"Works way better than a hammer on black walnuts. I get a lot of large nutmeats, not just chips that I have mostly got when using a hammer. It's good to put a 3-sided "shield" of cardboard about 12 inches high around the nutcracker as you work so shells don't shoot all over the room as they sometimes do. If I have trouble with cracking a nut, I just position it differently. If the nut just cracks in half without releasing the nutmeat, I crack each half. I'm very satisfied."

"All I can say is WOW! Had the nutcracker out of the box and cracking black walnuts in just a couple of minutes. Even with the stiff, sore hands, it was almost effortless. Cracked three nuts in approximately 45 seconds. What a difference between this and the old hammer technique. Fantastic. My only suggestion is to round off the corners or add some kind of cover to the end of the handle. I'm especially glad to see it is American made, and am recommending this product (and your website) to everyone!"

"Just bought this nutcracker to crack Black walnuts. We had been using a hammer to break them open on a brick, This is a wonderful tool. Effortless, heavy duty, and very well built out of tubular steel. I expect this will last me a lifetime. Takes those black walnuts down so easy, I have to hide them cause the kids are cracking them and eating them all on their own."

"I've used it on, and it works well, with black walnuts, macadamia, hickory and pecans. No readjusting a screw for different sized nuts/pieces, just move the nut to the more narrow section of the wedge. Little danger of pinching fingers, as distance angled crushing bar moves is very small. Comes with clear plastic covers (short tube segments) which slide over metal feet to protect counter/table. Excellent build quality, expect it will last a lifetime."

"This is the best nutcracker I have ever used. If you have any hesitation about this product, don't. Having researched a better way to crack all the pecans my tree produced this year this was the winner and it works. On the box it says "Get Crackin Nutcracker" and my freezer is filling up."

"I've had one of these for several years and it's the best for black walnuts of all sizes. Gives you easy control over the amount of pressure you apply to the shell with a small amount of actual force against the lever."

"Outstanding product! I bought it to shell black walnuts (2 large boxes hulled and dried). After getting used to it and a little work on technique I was able to crack the walnuts quickly and completely. Even my little niece (4 yrs old) was able to crack black walnuts and help with the processing after a little practice. The only problem I had was the thicker shells would really fly when cracked. I solved this by simply using the nutcracker in the cleaned delivery box with a little tape to keep the flaps down."

"I work in manufacturing, so I thought I would buy a slightly more industrial nutcracker than the little soldiers and squirrels I see everywhere. This thing is SO WELL MADE. Trust me, as soon as I got it out of the box, I inspected every single component and every weld. (Hee-hee... WELDING! On A NUTCRACKER!) I thought it would be functional but unsightly, but the design is actually so simple and elegant, I'm going to keep it on my desk. Also, it does a spectacular job of cracking the almonds and walnuts I happened to have on hand. I was a little wary of the potential to pinch a finger in such a heavy-duty industrial device, but it is so well designed that it isn't even really a possibility. I'm definitely seeking out some black walnuts because hey, why not? I have the power! I think I'm going to design a special coffee table and mount one of these to it at my house. Industrial chic + healthy snack = joy!"

"I bought one of these crackers for myself for Christmas. I had used my brothers cracker is the past, it is a different make. This cracker blows his away! The only thing I might change would be to add a small return spring to the handle. It has enough leverage that when the handle drops down with your fingers in the wrong spot you can get a good hard pinch. I would definately recommend this to everyone!"

"Your nutcracker (Item# 16455) is by far and away the best nutcracker ever! We have used it for walnuts (60 lbs.), hazelnuts, and the ever-dreadful-to-crack Brazil Nuts. It is easy on the arm, reduces "incoming" shells to the barest minimum, and leaves beautiful walnut halves and uncrushed filberts. Everyone in the family now has one. It is worth every penny and more."

"My husband requested a nutcracker for black walnuts after we were gifted with many buckets of them this year. I searched everywhere locally, and found this one online. The reviews said it would crack black walnuts so we ordered it. We were NOT DISAPPOINTED! My husband says it makes light work of them, especially compared to how he was cracking them, with a hammer. This product is so well made and sturdy, I'm sure it will last our lifetime and more. Thanks for a wonderful product that does what it says it will do!"

"Husband purchased this for me as a Christmas gift. Very sturdy nutcracker! Can handle any nut. I use it mostly for pecans and it does take a little time to perfect your technique so as not to crush the meat of the nut. Highly recommend!"

"Absolutely love this nutcracker!! I bought one for my family and one for my inlaws. I purchased this nutcracker to crack small and large hickory nuts and black walnuts. Works like a dream! This nutcracker is easy to work (my young children love to use it)and the handle requires very little force. The small hickory nuts are sometimes too small to crack completely, but it cracks black walnuts with hardly any effort. I have not tried it with softer nuts since I have a basic, hand-held cracker for those. As I said, I bought this product for hickory nuts and walnuts from my yard that otherwise require a hammer to crack. I would definitely recommend this nutcracker!"

"I am thrilled with this nutcracker. It is very quick and easy to use, and it has cracked many nuts for me, without any problems to speak of. When cracking nuts, pieces of the shell can become projectiles, so be careful when using. This is a serious tool that is well designed, well constructed, and built to last. Thank you."

"This nut cracker is very well made and smartly designed. I haven't used it to crack hazelnuts or English walnuts, but it might be perfect for those nuts. I have used it for pecans, black walnuts, and hickories. It has more than enough power for pecans, and I like the high degree of control you have compared to other designs, but despite that great control the shape of the metal where it holds the nut in place leads to almost every pecan meat getting crushed by the time the shell is cracked. We still use one of the cheap plunger type crackers (which leave plenty of room for improvement) for pecans even though we have this more expensive cracker. The design is excellent for black walnuts and hickories, but it needs to be a little bigger with a little more leverage to comfortably crack most black walnuts and hickories. It does great with the easier cracking end of the spectrum, but I have to really muscle some black walnuts (which doesn't feel especially safe) and some black walnuts I haven't been able to crack at all with this device."

"I bought this nutcracker from Lehman's a couple of years ago since I have a hazelnut bush and while it does a decent job it could sure use the ridges that are on the top half on the bottom half also. This would be a GREAT nutcracker if it had that feature. As it is now I have to hold the nut in place with one hand and and push down the crack lever with the other or else the hazelnut goes shooting across the room when pressure is applied."

"We have used this nut cracker primarily for hickory nuts. It will crack most hickory nuts easily; some require a little more effort. It is well make and sturdy. I plan to add a wood handle as the metal bar is a little uncomfortable after awhile. Or you could slip a piece of tubing over the handle as well. It helps to oil it once in a while. It is strange that it is rated to last a lifetime but only guaranteed for a year. With a little care (oiling) I think it would last a lifetime."

"This nutcracker was faster to use than my Reed's Rocket & Texas Two-Step nut crackers. And there was a lot more leverage making it easier to crack English walnuts. However, it is not as easy to use as described. It took some time to learn how to crack walnuts without crushing them too much. The other nutcrackers were better at cracking walnuts without smashing the meat, but they took a lot of time to adjust between different size walnuts."

"10 times better than hand held nutcracker. Very little effort needed to crack even the hardest black walnuts. Doesn't do a commercial grade job of keeping the nut meats in one piece, BUT the pieces are much larger than with hand held crackers. I've used this cracker mostly on pecans."
