"This is a very sweet book (a paperback--I think I was expecting a hardcover) about a New England farm girl who receives a toy stove for Christmas. The woodcut-style illustrations are perfect. I bought it for my nine-year-old daughter along with the mini cast iron stove. I thought she would like the stove for her American Girl dolls. I wrapped them up together and I'm so excited for her to open them. I just wanted to share the idea of getting both this book and the mini stove for your girl. (Bonus: our dog's name is Lucy.)"
