Your great grandmother likely had a bar of Fels-Naptha handy. Its quality is apparent since it is still on the market today.

  • Old-timers use it as a laundry stain remover and pre-treater, a general laundry soap, or to wash off poison ivy resin after contact
  • Our customers tell us they still use it in the laundry, and as a general cleaner for floors, tubs and showers, or dissolved in water as a spray insecticide in the garden
  • Each bar 4-3/4" x 2-1/4"
  • Pack of 3 bars
  • Made in USA

"Great soap for stains. Cleaned my ratty leather sneakers back to bright white, softening them in the process also.To make a great bug spray:Grate 1/2 bar of Fels-Naptha into a pot with quart or so of water. Heat slowly until melted. Let cool. Add about 3-4 cups more water and add 2 tablespoons or so of essential orange or lemon oil. Store concentrate in 2 liter bottle. To make bug spray, shake the concentrate a bit and add about a cup of the concentrate to a spray bottle that holds about a quart. Slowly add water to the concentrate and shake gently to mix after filling spray bottle. Spray plants as needed, getting under the leaves. After bugs die, rinse plants off some.I have eggplants in the back yard blooming like crazy but wouldn't set fruit. I was considering the entire crop a wash. The leaves were riddled with yellowish pinholes with tremendous amounts of bugs all on the underside of the leaves and also eating the blossoms. I sprayed them last week. I now have 14 eggplants that are about 2-1/2 inches long and more are setting every day.I think the eggplant likes not having the bugs eat it alive. Fels-Naptha bug spray now shares a place in my family's recipe book right along side the oatmeal pancakes."

"This soap is excellent for getting stains out of the neck and cuffs of my husband's white shirts. Just rub it directly on the wet fabric before putting them in the washing machine. My mother used to shave Fels Naptha bars with a potato peeler for use as her laundry soap in the washing machine. I haven't gone that far yet, but she sure had clean cloths."

"As others have said, this is a wonderful soap for making home-made detergent. But it's also great for spot treating stains. With lots of little ones in the family, I keep a bar by the sink so I can treat dribbles and spills right away before they set. This inexpensive soap has saved many outfits in my home. We also use it in the garden (grated, melted down, and diluted) to keep the bugs off of our plants instead of pesticide. With so many uses, you can't go wrong with this soap. I always keep it on hand."

"This soap is awesome! I love the old-fashioned smell, and use it with washing soda and borax to make my own laundry detergent, which saves me TONS of money. We have several in our family with sensitive skin, and Fels-Naptha doesn't bother it at all. Good product!"
