NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER MIXER DESCRIPTION
The popularity of all natural, non-hydrogenated peanut butter is growing as people discover its genuinely nutty flavor and healthy benefits. However, the peanut oil often separates and collects in the top of the jar, potentially causing an oily mess.

Not to worry! Grandpa Witmer's Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Mixer easily stirs the yummy ingredients back together for smooth spreading.

To Use:
  1. Replace the lid on your peanut butter jar with the mixer lid
  2. Place the stirrer down into the jar
  3. Turn the handle for perfectly blended peanut butter

"I love this product!! After years of slowly stirring with a messy knife, this has been a wonderful improvement. I especially like how the stirrer comes cleanly out of the lid...a peanut butter squeegee! No messy dish washing. I recently ordered a new one but only because a kitchen "helper" threw away a part not knowing how vital it was. Otherwise everything is still working great after many years."

"Lots of folks have made great comments, but I wanted to add one detail -- If you store your unopened peanut butter upside down, so that the oil settles in the bottom of the jar, this works perfectly. If you do that, when you open the jar all the liquid is on the bottom, and it mixes up just fine, even if the stirrer may not quite reach the bottom of the jar for some peanut butter brands (it does on one of the two brands we buy). One more hint: Cleaning up is less messy if you pull out the handle and stirrer from the lid BEFORE unscrewing the lid from the jar. The rubber gasket scrapes it thoroughly clean on the way out, so it does not drag out peanut butter or drip on things when removed."

"This thing works fantastic. I was really impressed with my very first jar of natural PB. I used to use a fork or butter knife to stir. But that always left those thick, barely swallowable chunks near the end. This mixer gets the oil redistributed very well."

"What a great device! Quick and without messy spilled oil. Older hands will find this much easier than a fork. Slight heating will help older, drier peanut butter stir easier. A snap to clean."

"If there was only one word allowed in the description of this product it would be BRILLIANT!! I have tried fork stirring, spoon stirring, and once put only one beater of my hand mixer in the jar and turned the mixer on low....which resulted in oil from the top of the jar splattered from here to kingdom come! This little stirrer was used this morning on a brand new jar of natural peanut butter, and I can't say enough THANK YOUs and BLESS YOUs to Lehman's for offering this Godsend to all natural peanut butter lovers out there! It was mixed to perfection in just a few cranks of the handle :) I'm ordering several more for gifts!"

"Make sure you have a peanut butter jar - does not fit canning jars. Make sure you don't stress the mixer - use room temperature PB. We liked it so much we ordered another one for Mom."

"Before I saw this item in Lehman's, I would open up a jar of my very separated natural peanut butter and think, "...if they only made something to mix this without making a mess..." This smart little tool eliminates that dry PB at the end of the jar; it makes every scoop good to he bottom! I would recommend this to anyone who makes or buys natural PB."

"I wasn't sure of the size of the jars in which my favorite peanut butter was packaged, but I ordered the mixer anyway. As it turned out, the cap is larger than the peanut butter jar. I decided to use it anyway, & by using a little pressure on top of the cap as I turned the mixer, the results are just what I want each time."

"I've had my mixer for over a year now. I would definitely recommend it to others who like natural peanut butter, with some comments, some of which have already been made by other reviewers. It doesn't completely stir up the middle, it's true, but you have to use a knife to spread it, and it stirs it enough to get the knife in there for easy scooping. It also doesn't hit the sides or the bottom well, but the sides solve themselves by slumping down and the bottom is, well, the bottom. You can stir that up yourself when it's that low. Maybe someday they'll figure out how to do it more like a dough hook (which would require more gears to break or get butter-y), or use silicone on the hook like is done with some stand mixer blades to help scrape the sides, but this does work fairly well for what it is. I've never had the problem one reviewer had about the ring falling apart, but I could see it happening if you were to remove the stirrer from the lid each time you used it. That is unnecessary. Just stir, and then don't set the lid-and-stirrer down on surfaces you don't want to be peanut butter-y while getting your peanut butter on your bread/whatever. Otherwise you can end up with lots of peanut butter on the outside of the rubber, anyway, or between, and that's messy and gross (one opinion). Otherwise, I absolutely love this product, and would definitely recommend it to others, especially when using it on a very full jar of peanut butter. It takes a lot of the mess out of the process! Thanks for another great product!"

"Well made product, works well but you have to scrape down sides of jar with knife. Peanut butter need to be at room temperature."

"This mixer DOES mix the peanut butter and it DOES keep the mess to a minimum. It DOES NOT mix it completely. When I saw this and read the reviews I thought the design would work much like a dough hook in an electric mixer - wrong. There is a 'dead space' in the center that requires mixing up with a knife. I had the peanut butter at room temp, but had to leave it and come back over several hours to get it pretty well mixed, then do a final mixing with a knife. I will keep mine since it is such a big pain to start it off mixing with a knife, but the design - I believe - could be improved."

"This lid did not fit any of the 4 different brands I tried with it. These are not obscure brands. I tried to operate it with a loose fit and got peanut butter all over me, the jar, the counter top. Well, you get the picture. Very unsatisfactory. Waste of money and not worth returning."

"I didn't try it on Lehman's PB but the lid didn't fit either of the other two jars of the brands I buy. I usually get Adams PB. I am back to stirring it in the mixer."

"With peanut butter, the mixer doesn't reach the bottom, the thickest layer. After using the mixer, I have to use a table knife to reach, loosen, and stir in the solids at the bottom. This takes almost as much work as just doing the whole job with the table knife, which is how I've always done this. Using the mixer -- mixing, disassembling, washing, and reassembling -- takes about as much work as manual stirring. So using the mixer, then using a table knife to stir in the bottom layer, is about twice the work of just mixing manually. The mixer works well with almond butter, which doesn't separate as strongly as peanut butter. But again, with all the cleaning involved, it doesn't save any effort or time. This mixer is a nice idea, and I hope someone improves the design. But after using mine several times, I gave it away."

"I like the concept and overall it mixes adequately, but the rubber seal around the lid deteriorated and got gooey and into the peanut butter. I'm not sure what caused the rubber to break down - I hand washed it so it wasn't exposed to very high water temperatures. All this said, I'm ordering a replacement because my husband likes this mixer better than using a knife."

"We picked this item up on our last trip to Lehman's. We were thrilled with it at first. After awhile the bubber ring around the mixer deteriorates and gets in the peanut butter and no longer wipes the mixer clean when you remove it. Great idea needs some work."
