"I did a lot of research before narrowing it down to the Berkey. I am so glad I did, for it is truly worth every penny I spent and then some. :)"

"We bought our Berkey in 1999. We have changed the elements once. It is easy to clean. We use ours for cooking and drinking; we really taste the difference from the city water. We fill our filter several times a day. We jokingly talk of getting a 2nd Berkey to meet our water needs. I definitely use the filtered water in my canning so the taste will be pure. "

"Just got this yesterday, and I'm putting it through it's paces. Last night I filled it up, and filtering was painfully slow. It seems the filters stay full of water all the time. This morning I filled it up again and went to work. When I got home, It had done it's thing, but the filters still had water. Well, I've filled 'er again, and this time it's working fast. Looks like it'll be complete after about an hour and a half. P.S. Still not sure if the filters(ceramic)should be holding water."

"This is the best purchase we ever made!! We bought it 4 years ago and the elements still have a looong life left in them. Our well water has sulfur (terrible smell) and sediment in it and I would have never dreamt of drinking it. With the Big Berkey it comes out sparkling clean and tasting great (smell gone)! We had guests commenting on how good the water tastes. This investment is well worth the 300+ since we got our money back a while ago by not having to buy expensive bottled water and no plastic bottles mean it is better for the environment. We fill stainless steel bottles with the water and take it everywhere. As an added bonus: the filterer and its elements are ridiculously easy to clean. Absolutely love it and could never do without it anymore!!"

"We bought our Big Berkey 3 years ago. Our drinking water is fantastic now. We have not had to replace our filters yet. This product is worth the price."

"This is the secomd Big Berkey I have purchased but this one was a gift for some gracious and kind neighbors. The best way I could say "thank you" (the verbal just didn't seem to truly express mu gratitude) was to surprise them with this beauty Now they don't have to buy the expensive bottled water. The unit I purchased for my home is performing beautifully and its performance was the basis for the choice. Best water in town!"

"In 1999 my husband was retiring and we were outfitting our motorhome (which was our new home)with things we needed to live in it. This was the 1st thing we put in. When you travel you never know what is in the water and this gave us great piece of mind. After 13 years on the road we have bought a home and we still use it and consider it a great emergency item as well. You just never know when the occasion will arise to make the water safe. We love ours and my parents have one as well. The kids borrow ours when they go camping so it is well used. Built like a tank and really user friendly."
