This book is beautifully written and contained all the information I had hoped to find. Of all the books I've read on this subject, this turned out to be a wonderful primer for me as a novice. The information is thorough and thoughtful and easy to understand and follow. It's easy to see the writer's respect and affection for these amazing creatures in his writing.

This was a gift for my brother, so the real test will be when he uses the information. What I saw was how the book covered all aspects of Beekeeping in a condensed and simplified way, with illustrations. It did appear to be a very 'practical' guide.
