I have used these windmills at two separate homes. We had a one acre yard at our home in Detroit, so I bought two of these to cover most of the lot. I used to have tunnels all over the place until I got the windmills. After that they all went to the neighbors lots! My folks here in Iowa also had problems with moles, so I put one in their yard as well. Again, no more moles. One tip. Instead of one piece of 8' pipe, I bought one 4' and two 2' sections, an 18" section, one junction and one 'T' junction. I used the 4' and one of the 2' sections to make a 6' piece of pipe. I put the 'T'' junction on one end of that, screwed the other 2' piece in to make a total of 8', and put the 18" section into the side of the 'T' joint, I wound up moving the pole around so I could mow, and it made it much easier to get the pole into the ground having that 18" section to step on to force it into the ground. Definitely worth the money.

I had purchased one of these several years ago. It worked wonders, but our last tornado tore the blades off of it and I had other things to worry about other than moles. But now the moles are back and can't wait for this product to get here. Will be ordering another one for the front yard. Wonderful product.

these look realy nice in the gardens. i look at them and decide if i should take a glider in heavy wind or a scale radio control airplane to the field. i only wish they would keep the gophers out of my garden. heavy wind and the propellers just spinning away, and gopher holes within three feet of the pipe base in the ground.

I moved into my current home at the end of 2007 (about 3/4 acre in a residential area). A while after moving in, I started noticing mole tunnels in my front yard. I almost stumbled on them a couple of times. I knew there were battery- and solar-powered mole gizmos available, but I happen to like windmills of all sorts, so I ordered a MOLE CHASER (late in 2008 or early in 2009). I set-up the windmill on a metal pipe as the instructions indicated. I located it in my front yard, within about 20 feet of where most of the mole tunnels I found - or stumbled over - were located. It was the most convenient spot it place it. Since that time, I have only noticed ONE mole tunnel on my property, and it was further back, along the side of my house near the backyard. I have found NONE in my front yard at all since then. As far as I am concerned, these things WORK.

Great product. I am now on my 3rd one and have rebuilt 2 with parts (bearings) purchased from the co. If you are still having problems with moles add a small nut and washer to one of the blades through the hole in the blade. That will unbalance the fan and greatly increase the vibrations. It does increase the bearing wear. Keeping the bearing full of grease does help.

Bought one of these early last fall; very quickly drove moles out of my front yard, which they had really torn up. Now, they're doing likewise to my back yard, so I'm getting another. These chasers are great: well built and highly effective, eliminating the need for traps or chemical deterrents. We wouldn't be without them!

I really had my doubts about this, but after spending probably $1,000 in Talparid over the past 4 years, I decided it was worth trying. I've given it 3 weeks so far, and am very pleased with it. I decided to test it in an area out front of the house that is surrounded by driveway & street (probably 1/2 acre). I went out every couple of days & stomped down the tunnels so I could tell if they were diminishing or not & my stomping became less & less over the 3 week period. I checked today & found one small hill, so I have to conclude that they do indeed work. Now I just need about 6 more for my 3+ acres! Much cheaper than chemicals.

Good product, effective. LOVE this company!

Update: This thing REALLY does work. I noticed it hadn't been spinning, however my neighbors windmill was. On closer inspection, two of the nut/washers came lose and are gone so it won't spin (need to get to the hardware store and tighten with more than just my hands). Since it isn't spinning, my moles are back. Would definitely recommend this item!

I ordered 3 of these, and am not really convinced that they work. I've had them installed for a few months now and am still seeing mole activity close to the windmills. They seem to be working the least right next to my raised garden beds (a couple feet away), which I was really hoping to keep moles/voles out of. :( The product is attractive, seems well-made and I like that it's made in the USA. Effectiveness may also have something to do with soil types, etc. I'm on sandy soil. Seems that some others have had better luck.

I purchased one at the beginning of the year anticipating spring. Wish I would have purchased two then when they weren't in such high demand. I just got notified that my second shipped. Yeah.. The moles have moved from the front yard, but I still have an issue on the side. My neighbor had windmill envy and bought one of those cosmetic four legged look alikes. Said she was trying to find mine, but couldn't. (She should have asked#. I did tell her about Lehmans. I just read online that moles like cicadas #which cicadas like tree roots).. So that kinda makes sense the infestation of moles we have had the last few years with it being the year of the 17 year cicadas where I live. Wish the molechasers worked on those guys. Definately recommend. If it doesn't work for you and your moles, it is pleasing to the eye.

My husband mention to me we had moles eat our plants and digging up our yard. So, I purchased two mole chasers, just to give it a try. After he put them around the yard, he noticed the moles had left. Excited about how the mole chasers worked, I ordered another one to put in our garden. A very good purchase I must say and our yard is mole free. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After setting my mole chaser up, I continued having mole issues. They even tunneled within 2 feet of the mole chaser. This item definitely is not at all effective.

The first 2 days I had mole activity as we didn't have much wind. The last 6 days no mole activity.

This item is a very good value! Made in USA, good design and pleasing to the eye, well-made at a reasonable price, and a nice addition to any garden. I'm ordering 2 more!

I love the mole chasers and now have three. I have a cat, and worry about poisons in my yard, so they are great. They are also good for the environment. I always try to use environmentally friendly products anyway. They are easy to put together and work wonderfully. They're kind of fun to watch too, because you can tell from inside the house how windy it is outside before going out.

This works! I did NOT want to ever poison the cute little moles... but making them mad enough to leave my yard was not out of the question. I installed this and have not seen a trace of them since. I used to have mole mounds all over my yard... not anymore!

In recent years, I've tried to use minimal chemicals in my yard. However, moles were becoming a problem. I bought and installed this mole chaser a year ago. While not completely gone, I did notice a substantial reduction of moles since using it. It's also useful as a weather vane, showing changes in wind direction and strength. It makes a cheerful, country lawn ornament, as well!
