The previous reviewer said this knife rusted. That's what happens with Carbon Steel blades! Carbon steel is wonderful because is sharpens and re-sharpens quickly and easily. If you wipe the blade dry frequently as you are working, and touch it to a steel often, it will stay sharp and clean. After work, wash immediately and rub the blade with a small amount of mineral oil. It will never rust if cared for properly!

I was excited about this knife but as I was butchering my first hog the knife was visibly rusting. It seemed to be stainless steel. I was impressed with the sharp blade and the utility of the knife. It worked well but the rust was disapointing.
