The blade arrived first, carefully packed. Two days later, the sturdy wooden pole came, and they were easy to fit together. Anybody who has ever bought a hoe or axe knows that you slide the metal over the handle starting at the thinner end. I like the feel of this grape hoe, and it easily does the job I use it for.

I just received my European style grape hoe and I am blown away at how wonderfully this tool is made. If I had any great grand children, I believe that I would be able to leave this hoe to them in my will. I can't wait to start digging with it. I have big plans for some new garden beds.

Outstanding product! Head comes separate than the handle and it may take just a wee bit of fitting. But the head fits well enough without filing the handle that it can be just slipped on and put to work. The handle comes sanded and finished. The tool is an absolute dirt moving dream-come-true...the curved handle results in a very effectively use of force.

To those having trouble installing the how onto the handle. It slides on from the end you hold onto the end. Sounds like some of you think it goes on the other way. The idea being, it can never fall off, and you tighten it by smacking the end on the ground.

I haven't been able to sand down the handle enough to attach the head. It's too bad the handle did not closer fir the hole it was supposed to slide into! I do not want to have it cut off shorter so it would fit on. It is as if someone didn't get the size matched up. I do not want to return it, because I need it NOW!

Head must be attached to handle. The handle is beautifully made, the head is not. It is a very rough casting made in China. It took me a considerable amount to time to file the burrs off the eye of the head in order for it to slide onto the handle. Once assembled, it's a wonderful heavy duty tool. I did strip the cheap poly finish off the handle and rub it with linseed oil. Much more comfortable to use. I also ground a much sharper edge on it than what came from the factory.

Do not know why I did not get this hoe sooner. It has truely saved me time and back ache. It cut through the dirt roots and all with little effort. Very well made.

WARNING. The head and handle come unattached. It is very difficult to drive the head onto the handle without damaging the wood.

Hands down the best hoe I have ever bought. Heavy duty and built to last. A wonderful item. Makes short work of nasty weeds.

Head is a good weight, size, and shape. Handle is too short. Making a longer handle for it is too much trouble, so I am buying a competing brand instead, even thought the competing head is lighter and narrower.

If I couldn't get another one, no one could buy it from me. It's the best hoe! I just love it.

Within 30 minutes of receiving the Italian Grape Hoe, I had assembled it and was busy scraping off some weedy ground. Works beautifully!
