Nice and long to keep you back from the hot coals. Heavy twisted wire easily supports two sausages or dogs, and could likely handle 3 regular size weiners. The handle is a simple drilled wooden dowl which could easily be replaced if needed. Very basic design which works.

We bought this hot dog roaster to allow our young grandchildren to roast marshmallows over the hot coals in the fireplace. What a treat for them during an overnight at Grandma and Grandpa's house on a cold winter night. We liked the quality and the length that allowed it's use without getting too close to the hot fire.
