Can you spray it off? yes. Can it press apples? yes. Is it expensive? yes. My gripe is that for all the money you spend to get a manual grinder and press it has no casters or easy way to relocate the press. If you have a spot for it that it can stay and you can bring the apples to it, Great! If you are thinking that you will store it and then bring it out in the harvest season...ok think through that. Either get an off road dolly, or build an entire wheel system--thats what I'm going to do---but just using the hole on bottom and purchasing castors has it so top heavy it cant be moved that way either. So I am going to build a frame that pushes out width and depth of the press and make it so i can actually easily move it. I feel like none of that was considered.

Just used this press for the first time and it was seamless. Great durable product and easy to clean. We were looking for a metal press, and found this to be a good value. There are a few things I wish we would have liked. Two tubs so one could be pressed while another was grinding, but overall it went very quickly. We pressed about 7 gallons in a couple hours. We plan to do a bigger pressing in a couple weeks and I'm happy it is so easy to use, and especially easy to clean!

We bought Lehman's cider press this year and are so glad we did! We had a bumper crop of multiple types of apples and the fresh cider is absolutely fabulous! Yesterday, we processed several bushels of Whitney crabapples which resulted in a very good cider - both sweet and tart at the same time! Lehman's American-made press is very well constructed and extremely easy to use and to clean. Some edges on the components are sharp and, like the instructions tell you, you should take care to protect your hands when assembling and disassembling the press. We bought an oversized Rubbermaid bin in which to store all the clean components when the press isn't in use. We are storing the press outside under an eave that's in a protected location and saved the shipping box to use as a cover for the press. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you buy two bags for the press AND the food-safe grease that Lehman's offers. Both made a big difference in the ease of use of the press. Lastly, we also recommend buying 2 or 3 large (20 quart) aluminum bowls - they're indispensable when making cider and many other things.

We used our stainless steel grinder and press for the first time today. Everything worked perfectly and we supplied many of our neighbors with fresh cider. The kids really enjoyed being a part of the process. My only suggestion would be to offer some type of a handle for the press mechanism to make it easier to turn. We ended up using a hockey stick (which the kids loved), but it would be great if Lehman's could come up with something!

Absolutely love it!! Easy to clean. 15mins. 4 wing nuts, 1 cotter pin, 3 items that lift out, no wood to worry about with the stainless steel. Really smart design that can crank out the cider!
