Perfect for Making Oil Lamps
Mar 14, 2018
These work perfectly in a pint or half-pint mason jar with olive oil. I was surprised how bright they are and how long they last. I have made quite a few in preparation of losing electricity (which we do frequently). I have put a lid on them so they are ever ready when I need them!
Best Little Lamp Around.

I tried this lamp out as soon as it arrived, and to my amazement it gave off quite a bright light in a quart mason jar. This got me looking for other receptacles, like cut glass and the effect was just what I hoped. Absolutely stunning. I highly recommend the.

We are changing our candles and lamps to natural products and the olive oil type are the best.

Love these lights. Convenient, clear burning, safe. Wonderful lights to have when the power goes out!

I bought this set up about 2 years ago. Never needed to use it, until last week. Lost power during hurricane Matthew. This little set up worked great. I got my olive oil out poured a small amount it, put in the wick, and it lighted instantly. It doesn't give a huge amount of light, but it was fine for us sitting at the kitchen table. Cost affective and it works. Batteries don't last all that long in flashlights, so if you are in a pinch this works out great.

The wick is too narrow for the spiral wire opening. Wire is too hard to twist smaller to make it fit better, so wick just falls right out. was never able to use this product.

The wick on the lamp is so thin it makes no more light than a match. I tried it in an enclosed dark bathroom--can't see to brush my teeth!! Buy the cabin light, flat wick00it is wonderful but this pint thing is not good!!

This wick is so small a match makes as much light!! It doesn't even light my enclosed bathroom enough to brush your teeth! We have the cabin light and with the flat wick it is wonderful--I should have known better!!!!

Love these lamp fittings. As Patty noted, the wicks can slip out of the coil BUT just make a shim from a large wooden matchstick (not the business end) -insert then break off the matchstick and the bit of wood in the coil will hold your wick in place.

Great idea! Using quality olive oil with a little essential oil in it makes a great smelling oil lamp! I'm sensitive to regular lamp oil but this doesn't bother me a bit!

My neighbor and I ordered this to try out together along with Olive Oil Book for each of us. We were sorry we didn't get two packages and will definitely be ordering more. These are amazing.

Elements and wicks are great! I had tried making my own with wire and some spare fabric wick, but it was never quite right... These are a great improvement to my concoction. Fits perfectly in a pint-sized Ball glass jar. Only slightly annoying thing is that the coil seems to be a bit too wide for the wick so that when you first thread it through, it wants to keep slipping out the bottom. Once you get it lit, though, it's fine after that.
