I've had one of these for literally decades. It's lasted over 20 years, and would probably last even longer, but I've decided to splurge on a new one.
A great product

We usually buy Smuckers brand peanut butter in one of 2 sizes. The large and small stirrers work for them. My wife and I have struggled with the knife method for years. We ended up with peanut oil all over and our hands tired. We thought someone must have addressed the problem and found these at Lehmans. We love them, the do a great job. They are actually made by a very small company in Ohio. We love it!

I read through the reviews and was hesitant to buy this, but I saw that most 'problems' were addressed by other viewers. Also, I buy the Smuckers Natural PB 26oz jars, and that was a sure fit according to the reviews. I ended up purchasing the lg sz stirrer and made sure I stored my jars upside-down before opening (I buy 2-4 jars at a time). I tried stirring the jars both on their side with the handle off the edge of the counter and right side up as well. The result is creamy, well mixed peanut butter that doesn't separate for at least two weeks (the max time my family goes through a jar). As soon as I have mixed a jar, I pull the stirrer out of the lid, unscrew it and immediately hand wash all the parts. Then I reassemble it and put it back in the drawer, ready to use for the next time. Much better than getting splashed with oil trying to stir with a knife like before.
Peanut Butter Stirer

Not worth the effort. Bought the small &a large size, but did not work on the peanut butter (natural) buy from Costco. Sadly I would classify it as junk. Good idea but should test more before selling.
Lehman's says: Thanks for taking the time to let us know! We appreciate you feedback!

I liked this mixer so much I bought one for my three sons. They are big peanut eaters. The mixer saves a lot of time and aggravation.
Peanut Butter Mixer

We bought one of these at Lehman's many years ago. We use it all the time to mix Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter in the 16-oz. jar. After many years of use, the threads finally wore out in the lid, so we just bought another. This is the best invention since peanut butter itself.

Thank you for such a great product and made in the USA. I just love the PB mixer. What did I ever do without one. So easy to use and clean.

This mixer DOES mix the peanut butter and it DOES keep the mess to a minimum. It DOES NOT mix it completely. When I saw this and read the reviews I thought the design would work much like a dough hook in an electric mixer - wrong. There is a 'dead space' in the center that requires mixing up with a knife. I had the peanut butter at room temp, but had to leave it and come back over several hours to get it pretty well mixed, then do a final mixing with a knife. I will keep mine since it is such a big pain to start it off mixing with a knife, but the design - I believe - could be improved.

EXCELLENT product! Just got it and followed directions on back; works perfectly! Laid jar on side and turned handle over counter edge; mixed beautifully. Clean-up a snap; no peanut butter left on stirred when pulled out. Might have to get the big one, now!! :-)

With peanut butter, the mixer doesn't reach the bottom, the thickest layer. After using the mixer, I have to use a table knife to reach, loosen, and stir in the solids at the bottom. This takes almost as much work as just doing the whole job with the table knife, which is how I've always done this. Using the mixer -- mixing, disassembling, washing, and reassembling -- takes about as much work as manual stirring. So using the mixer, then using a table knife to stir in the bottom layer, is about twice the work of just mixing manually. The mixer works well with almond butter, which doesn't separate as strongly as peanut butter. But again, with all the cleaning involved, it doesn't save any effort or time. This mixer is a nice idea, and I hope someone improves the design. But after using mine several times, I gave it away.

I didn't try it on Lehman's PB but the lid didn't fit either of the other two jars of the brands I buy. I usually get Adams PB. I am back to stirring it in the mixer.

I love this product!! After years of slowly stirring with a messy knife, this has been a wonderful improvement. I especially like how the stirrer comes cleanly out of the lid...a peanut butter squeegee! No messy dish washing. I recently ordered a new one but only because a kitchen helper threw away a part not knowing how vital it was. Otherwise everything is still working great after many years.

This thing works fantastic. I was really impressed with my very first jar of natural PB. I used to use a fork or butter knife to stir. But that always left those thick, barely swallowable chunks near the end. This mixer gets the oil redistributed very well.

Lots of folks have made great comments, but I wanted to add one detail -- If you store your unopened peanut butter upside down, so that the oil settles in the bottom of the jar, this works perfectly. If you do that, when you open the jar all the liquid is on the bottom, and it mixes up just fine, even if the stirrer may not quite reach the bottom of the jar for some peanut butter brands (it does on one of the two brands we buy). One more hint: Cleaning up is less messy if you pull out the handle and stirrer from the lid BEFORE unscrewing the lid from the jar. The rubber gasket scrapes it thoroughly clean on the way out, so it does not drag out peanut butter or drip on things when removed.

Awesome tool! Works great and no more messy oil spills. A+++++

For years I struggled to stir my natural peanut butter. What a mess. I ordered your Peanut Butter Mixer and it is awesome! I liked it so much I ordered another one as a gift for a friend. It is a great product.

Before I saw this item in Lehman's, I would open up a jar of my very separated natural peanut butter and think, ...if they only made something to mix this without making a mess... This smart little tool eliminates that dry PB at the end of the jar; it makes every scoop good to he bottom! I would recommend this to anyone who makes or buys natural PB.

I like the concept and overall it mixes adequately, but the rubber seal around the lid deteriorated and got gooey and into the peanut butter. I'm not sure what caused the rubber to break down - I hand washed it so it wasn't exposed to very high water temperatures. All this said, I'm ordering a replacement because my husband likes this mixer better than using a knife.

The Model 100 did not fit my Hienens Natural PB. SO I contacted the manufacturer and they were willing to swap lids for the Model 300. I thought this is FANTASTIC customer support. I purchased a Smuckers Natural with honey and the 100 lid fits great, so I will just use up the Smuckers and pour the the Hienens into that jar. Easy to stir and mixe your Healthy PB, each blending stir lasts for several days. Thanks for a useful product.

works very well, should have had one of these years ago. Worth the price.

I will only eat natural peanut butter and this gadget has been a lifesaver! It makes it SO easy to get this messy job done!! I think more people would eat the much healthier natural peanut butter, if they knew this gadget existed! Highly recommended!!

I've had my mixer for over a year now. I would definitely recommend it to others who like natural peanut butter, with some comments, some of which have already been made by other reviewers. It doesn't completely stir up the middle, it's true, but you have to use a knife to spread it, and it stirs it enough to get the knife in there for easy scooping. It also doesn't hit the sides or the bottom well, but the sides solve themselves by slumping down and the bottom is, well, the bottom. You can stir that up yourself when it's that low. Maybe someday they'll figure out how to do it more like a dough hook (which would require more gears to break or get butter-y), or use silicone on the hook like is done with some stand mixer blades to help scrape the sides, but this does work fairly well for what it is. I've never had the problem one reviewer had about the ring falling apart, but I could see it happening if you were to remove the stirrer from the lid each time you used it. That is unnecessary. Just stir, and then don't set the lid-and-stirrer down on surfaces you don't want to be peanut butter-y while getting your peanut butter on your bread/whatever. Otherwise you can end up with lots of peanut butter on the outside of the rubber, anyway, or between, and that's messy and gross (one opinion). Otherwise, I absolutely love this product, and would definitely recommend it to others, especially when using it on a very full jar of peanut butter. It takes a lot of the mess out of the process! Thanks for another great product!

If you like natural peanut butter, this is a wonderful tool, because it allows you to stir it without having the accumulated oil on top spilling over. I love it and have given one (so far) as a gift.

I love it! Its so much easier to mix my peanut butter with this than with a butter knife.

This lid did not fit any of the 4 different brands I tried with it. These are not obscure brands. I tried to operate it with a loose fit and got peanut butter all over me, the jar, the counter top. Well, you get the picture. Very unsatisfactory. Waste of money and not worth returning.

Makes stirring natural PB much easier and less messy. Definitely money well spent.
Jul 27, 2012
Perfect! Solves the problem beautifully. Thanks to Lehman's for making it available.

Stirring my peanut butter is no longer a chore thanks to this little gadget.

This worked great on my natural peanut butter. It was easy to use, and cleaned up easily. So glad we found it -never knew there was such a tool. Thank you Lehmans

We picked this item up on our last trip to Lehman's. We were thrilled with it at first. After awhile the bubber ring around the mixer deteriorates and gets in the peanut butter and no longer wipes the mixer clean when you remove it. Great idea needs some work.

If there was only one word allowed in the description of this product it would be BRILLIANT!! I have tried fork stirring, spoon stirring, and once put only one beater of my hand mixer in the jar and turned the mixer on low....which resulted in oil from the top of the jar splattered from here to kingdom come! This little stirrer was used this morning on a brand new jar of natural peanut butter, and I can't say enough THANK YOUs and BLESS YOUs to Lehman's for offering this Godsend to all natural peanut butter lovers out there! It was mixed to perfection in just a few cranks of the handle :) I'm ordering several more for gifts!

Well made product, works well but you have to scrape down sides of jar with knife. Peanut butter need to be at room temperature.

What a great device! Quick and without messy spilled oil. Older hands will find this much easier than a fork. Slight heating will help older, drier peanut butter stir easier. A snap to clean.

Natural peanut butter has the best flavor, but mixing was always a chore. This handy mixer takes the chore out of it. Great!

Make sure you have a peanut butter jar - does not fit canning jars. Make sure you don't stress the mixer - use room temperature PB. We liked it so much we ordered another one for Mom.
Sep 10, 2011
I wasn't sure of the size of the jars in which my favorite peanut butter was packaged, but I ordered the mixer anyway. As it turned out, the cap is larger than the peanut butter jar. I decided to use it anyway, & by using a little pressure on top of the cap as I turned the mixer, the results are just what I want each time.

I would buy the natural peanut butter and leave it on the counter for days, now with the Mixer I stir it right away. Easy to clean too..Peanut butter clinging to the stirrer when pulled out is just right to wrap a slice of bread around!

Does the job, works great!
May 26, 2010
Fabulous! Works perfectly, cleans easily, and my hands and wrists are SO happy with the product. Thank you.
May 26, 2010
We have been using this mixer for a while, and now the coating on the underside of the cover has become gooey and travels down the mixer stem when inserted into the cover hole and into the peanut butter.. Are these mixers still being made with this same coating on the underside of the cover? I did report this to Smucker's too. What can be done about this?

Easy to use! Easy to clean! Wow, does it mix the PB easily.

If the gasket would not wear out, this would be a 10 star rating. I bought a second one and the gasket got all sticky and started wearing away on that one too :( My stirrer and the plastic insert for the lid are in good shape still in both sets. The lid with the gaskets are in the garbage tho. I use it 1-2x a week to stir our nutbutters. We eat them daily. Neither set's gasket lasted us more than 18-24mos before it started getting icky. I kept using each set's lid with the icky gasket for another 6 mos before it was just too gross to use. We would love to see an improved version!

A great invention that solves a messy problem. Thanks Lehmans!

Great idea - liked comment on how to adapt when lid does not quite fit. For those having problems with it reaching the bottom of the jar try what I have done using the knife method. Pour off some of the top oil and save in a small jar. Stir top half and add saved oil when you reach the harder dry part. If you have oil left over use for cooking or salad dressings.
