Used this to clear some downed limbs on my property and it worked great for about 20 minutes. Then the chain snapped- sending a very sharp piece of metal into my finger. I'm literally cut to the bone. Lesson learned - WEAR GLOVES AND DON'T USE CHEAP TOOLS LIKE THIS!!

Good saw but it is a workout

I used this pocket chainsaw for the first time with more than a two inch branch. Hurricane Hermine came through this weekend, and without power I wanted to cut up some oak branches that had fallen. I was cutting through 6 inch oak branches and I believe that it was easily twice as strenuous as a good bow saw/ cross cut one man saw. That being said I was able to cut some very large branches with a saw that had ridden in the glove box of my car for almost 8 years and I had never used it strenuously until now. If you are looking for a saw that cuts and never tires you out this is not it. I would say that for branches 3 inches or less this is great but cutting up a larger log is not its strong point. It does cut larger pieces of wood but it took me 6 minutes per cut of fairly strenuous work. My Bahco 30 inch bow saw took about 2 minutes and at least to me seemed easier. The pocket chainsaw did do a great job on smaller branches and did cut the larger logs all in a size that easily fits into a car trunk or glove box. I hope this helps people know what to expect with this product. I will be keeping one in each car because it does work.

Saw broke during the second use. However, the first use was wonderful. Unfortunately, I cant give a good review because of it breaking after only one use.

What am I not getting? It seems well made and definitly a handy compact size. It is sharp enough and it does cut. However get a little bit in and it jams, go slow and it jams, go fast and it just jams quicker. That is it gets stuck in the cut and I cant pull on the back stroke at all. I am not cutting thick pieces. It does much better with dead and very dry timber and then it does cut quite quickly but I bought it for pruning overhead limbs of living trees and it just does not like the green stuff. I have gone over the instructions and seem to be doing using it correctly. Quite disappointed really. Any advice from anyone who has been successful with it would be greatly appreciated.

This is a great tool!!! Tired of borrowing your neighbors chainsaw for that occasional quick cut. Get this instead. The end will not pull off like those cheap wite saws. This is a heavy duty tool that will last with just a little oil and care. Throw this in your glove compartment, or tractor (or buggy) tool box and fallen limbs on the road will be but a momentary delay. I have cut 8 inch thick limbs from maple trees 35 ft high while I was safe on the ground. (note-stand off to the side slightly) Suburban home owners will find that this is a better choice than a chainsaw for occasional cuts.

Best folding saw I have ever used. I have done 8 multi-week camping/canoeing trips with it.
