So I have had this just shy of a year now, got it for Christmas and now it is October. There ARE some sharp edges as other reviews have mentioned. They havent caused me trouble, but they are there. Aside from that, this has become my go to pan. I no longer need stupid tin foil that gives me trouble, just put the lid on. It is great to take meals to other houses, and cleans up great! I love it!
Nice pan with dangerous lid
Apr 14, 2021
The lid is very sharp on the edges. My husband was able to use a special sand paper to take the sharp edge off. It's a very good cake pan but I wasn't able to give more stars due to the sharp edges on the lid. Nice weight.

Beautiful, lightweight pan.

I chose this pan for it's size, and the unusual cover for it. I felt if I made a lasagne, I would not have to put aluminum foil on it (then have it get tomato sauce on it), have it pit, then have to scrape off the top. The stainless steel lid does the trick for me. I can bake my lasagne and leave it covered, then remove the lid at the end and I have no more top layer issues. I have had this pan for several years, I received it as a gift. It is dishwasher safe, light-weight and very handy. I baked cakes in here, made rice puddings, baked chickens and various other meals. I have two minor issues with this pan, the first is the weight of the pan is very light-weight, I was expecting a little heavier than it is. The second issue is the lid, although I do love it, it can be difficult to put on and take off. If I get frustrated, I just lay the lid on top of the pan. Aside from those two issues, this pan cleans up easily, by hand or in the dishwasher. I do love this pan and have no regrets.
Great pan, but have bandaids nearby

I would love, love, LOVE this pan if putting the lid on and off weren't so dangerous. Beware cuts on fingers! I had a photo but no place to post it.
Lehman's says: We're sorry to hear this happened! The lid should not be that sharp. Please reach out to us at email@example.com so we can make this right!
Not the cake pan from my childhood
Oct 7, 2019
I was thrilled to find a lidded cake pan similar to the one from my childhood, so I bought more than one! Bad idea. There they sit because the lid doesn't fit tight. Here in the SW US it's dry so a loose lid equals a cake that dries out.

I have wanted this pan for ever. I have had a small brownie pan for decades and wanted this size for ever. I am so glad I broke down and bought it. I LOVE IT. There is nothing wrong with the lid, you just have to figure out how to open it, thats all. And its deep enough to make a cake to so the top does not hit the lid and take off the frosting when you open it !! I love this pan.

I looked for a long time for a 9x13 that wasn't aluminum and didn't have a plastic lid. I was so excited to find this one. The lid is tall enough to cover the cake without smashing icing. Cakes and casseroles both work in it great.
Top edge rolled over rusting steel rod
Oct 13, 2018
The top edge was rolled over a rod of common not stainless steel and is now rusting and running down the outside of the pan. NOT 100% stainless steel. Chinese cutting corners

Meh- mediocre pan
Aug 25, 2018
I broke the tab on the lid while removing the plastic from the pan. The tab had been spot welded to the lid and the welds broke easily. Not that the tab is necessary, but now I can look forward to future rust spots! The complaints of sharp edges comes from the fact that the lid does not have rolled edges. As for the pan- I wish it was just a bit thicker. It lacks that quality feel and I doubt it will manage to last very long.

These are nice pans!
Feb 28, 2018
I almost did not get these pans because of the reviews here. But I became so frustrated by not being able to find a stainless steel pan w/lid that got favorable reviews. I do not know what the others were reviewing, but these pans, SKU: 1042905, are everything I need in a stainless steel pan. The lids fit good but are not water tight, they are not flimsy or too light of gauge by any means. The bottoms does have a raised section in the middle by about 1/16" or so. Certainly not a show stopped for me by any means. And yes, they are made in China and some have said they doubt it is made of real stainless steel. Short of a metallurgic analysis it looks like stainless to me. A magnet will not stick to it, but I have seen some stainless that will actually attract a magnet. There are different formulation of stainless, some have less nickle in it to make more durable like for knives and guns. I definitely like my pans and can recommend them to anyone provided the above qualifications meet with they're approval.

This pan and cover is the perfect alternative to whipped cream and icing stuck on plastic wrap! Why did I wait so long to purchase one?
finally found it!

My wife has been hunting a stainless steel cake pan like this for a long time. She is happy and has made use of it several times. With the holidays coming up it will probably get more use.
Love this stainless steel cake pan
Oct 1, 2017
I have been looking for a stainless steel cake pan that is 13 by 9 inches for a long time. The ones available have a wide lip so they are much larger than 13 by 9. This pan has straight sides, is deeper, and is more uniform in dimensions. I also like having a cover that doesn't mess up icing on the top of the cake like foil does. I bought two of these pans and was so happy with them I ordered two more. This pan is also the perfect size for my Wolfgang Puck pressure oven which came with a non stick pan that is slowly deteriorating inside.
Love this pan--Just what I've been looking for!
Sep 23, 2017
I have been trying to find a 13 x 9 stainless steel baking pan for a long time. Most of the pans I saw had a lip on them which made them much longer and wider. This pan is deeper than most, and with the raised lid, the frosting on the cake does not get messed up (like I have experienced when wrapping a cake with foil.) I baked a cake in the pan last night, and the cake came out very uniform on top and very moist. (In my old 13 by 9 vintage stainless steel pan, one end of the cake always rose higher.) I bought 2 pans in the first order and just ordered two more. Needless to say, I'm very happy with this product.
Stainless Cake pan

This was so good to find the Stainless cake pan. My wife was so excited to find this to replace the aluminum pans we have had. They are beautifully made in China and the lid works well, good latch, but a little loose too?
Stainless cake pan with lid
Jul 19, 2017
Was so excited to receive my pan. I immediately made a peach cobbler. Later that evening I put the lid on the pan and realized that the lid did not fit very well and the edges are not smooth. Also was looking forward to receiving a catalog. I assumed one would be included but was not. since I specifically wanted the pan to have a lid I am disappointed

Just received this pan. Bought 3. However, I did not realize that they are made in China!!! I was really upset because I missed the word, "Imported". They are not heavy duty, and because they are so light weight, I worry about whether they are 100 percent stainless steel. Just don't trust anything made in China/Asia, with the exception of Japan, because of the inferiority of their quality control. Have not used them and as to this writing, I am contemplating the return.

While not everyone might get excited about a piece of cookware, I would and am! The stainless steel 9"x13" cake/roasting pan with lid is gorgeous! I am in the process of removing all aluminum, plastic and Teflon coated utensils from my kitchen. You should too. Since budget is an issue I have been waiting for an opportunity to get this pan since last year and the wait paid off. The quality of the pan and cover is wonderful and I expect it to be an heirloom. Sure, it would have been great if it were made in the U.S., but I believe that Lehman's sells domestic products whenever possible. PS. Their customer service is great, too. Thanks Lehman's.

I love this cake pan. I got it for a gift for my Mom, but most of all I loved the customer service that I received. This was to be a gift for Christmas and the pan was out of stock, so they pulled from their retail shelves and sent one. It is in my position and my Mom will be very happy for Christmas.
Nothing beats a stainless steel pan
Nov 30, 2016
Nothing beats a stainless steel pan. I've used the same 9x13 stainless steel pan with a lid for 41 years (doing lots of baking & washing in the dish washer all the time) & it's as good as new. I bake things on the lid like a small cookie sheet. I've had aluminum pans but they don't cook even & just can't stand the dishwasher. I've wanted another 9x13 s. s. pan for years but couldn't find one until now that was under $80.00. Very pleased with this pan!

The pan is very sturdy & beautiful, but after I washed it in the dishwasher the top 1/2 inch all around the top of the pan that did not have food in it had the shine gone....even when I scrubbed by hand did not look like the rest of the pan.
Mar 26, 2014
I bought them as a gift for my wife & she loved it so much I got her another. She loves the way it bakes & especially like the ease of clean up. She is able to put it in the dishwasher and unlike aluminum cake pans, the dishwasher detergent does not dissolve the pan. She said this is one of those pans you can pass down to your child.

I love this cake pan. I use it as a general baking pan for just about everything. It heats evenly, feels strong and sturdy, and cleans up in a snap without the worry of non-stick coatings. This pan looks really nice, too. A few times my wife has used it for potlucks and everyone asks where she got it. The only drawback is that the lid doesn't lock on, but I never really expected it to in the first place.

I always suggest this as being an excellent wedding gift, you can have the lid engraved with their last name and the date of the wedding. Also include one of your favorite cookbooks.

I bought four of these pans when they were the Markdown of the Month. I gave three of them to my three grown daughters for Christmas, keeping one for myself----and am I glad I did! The pan bakes evenly, cleans up easily with a short soaking and non-abrasive cleaning sponge, and looks terrific! And the nice tall sides make it perfect for lasagna! I haven't had any problems with sharp edges either. I would definitely recommend it!
Jan 16, 2013
The first thing I made in this pan was a standing rib roast for Christmas. I used the drippings for au jus and after, the clean up was as easy as Teflon with a little soak. The taller sides than a normal cake pan made it a perfect choice for this application. I noticed that a couple negative reviews cited sharp edges on the cover. The edges are not rolled, but they are not sharp. To say one could never get cut would be pushing it, but I can't imagine that happening. I washed it by hand and, freely and lavishly, ran the cloth up and down the edge. If you decide not to purchase this item, don't let it be because of the edges. As far as the discoloring goes, mine hasn't discolored yet, but it seems that would not be a functional issue but rather cosmetic, so you need to decide if that was important to you. So far, I love my pan and bought 2 for gifts for daughter and daughter-in-law.

The pan is not a disappoitment because I was not able to order it while it was on special. When I ordered it it was marked out of stock. I checked back this past Saturday (the last day of the sale) and it was still out of stock. But amazing today it is back in stock (after the sale). Makes you wonder if maybe Lehman's were holding back on the sale item. Will not be able to prove this but sure does make one think that this is pretty shady business and there were only a few for sale and when the quota of ones they wanted to sell was up they marked it out of stock. That is very unprofessial. Sorry they have to do business this way and I will not be ordering anything again from them.

Lehman's should provide only American-made products if they really want to be good. I've been trying to find this item but refuse to support China when there are probably better American-made products possibly less expensive or at least equal.

Great depth, quality and design - love the raised, well fitting lid. And it's handsome, and fun to use. Love it. ~ Kayakeruth

I love this pan! Been looking for an affordable SS 13x9 pan for awhile. I purchased 3 of these pans because the price was so reasonable. Getting rid of everything aluminum in my kitchen for health reasons. Thanks Lehmans.
Nov 26, 2012
So far, my only complaint is that it is made in China. Had I read the description more carefully, I would have seen that it was imported, which would have alerted me to its origin. I would not have made the purchase, knowing that information.

Just received my stainless steel pan with cover, and I think it is GREAT quality for the price. I was lucky enough to buy it while it was the Markdown of the Month. I wanted a pan I could bake a big meat pie or lasagna in, and then just cover the leftovers for reheating the next night. I have aluminum covered pans, but I don't like to leave food in them that will discolor in contact with aluminum. I could not find a similar pan made in stainless steel in any store, so I went online. I'm very happy that Lehman's had their pan on sale, but even at the regular price it is still the least expensive covered stainless steel pan of this size that I found offered anywhere online.

I love this pan and use it for all our potluck baking. I like it so much I bought a second one, and now I'm about to buy a third to give to a friend.
Apr 6, 2012
Love, love, love this pan! Throw out those aluminum ones. I give these as gifts whenever I can.
Dec 23, 2011
This is a great product, exactly as described, and my wife is happy. :) Shipped in time for Christmas. I will order other products from Lehman's in the future.
Dec 16, 2011
It was well packaged and arrived in a timely manner and looked great. However, the first time I used it, the recipe called for the pan to be greased. The batter did not come as high as I had greased the sides of the pan and it now appears that the finish is off all around the pan above the batter line.Where the batter was is just fine.
Dec 6, 2011
I like it alot. It works very well. The top is high enough to stay out of the food.
Apr 11, 2011
THE PAN WAS VERY WELL PACKAGED, I PURCHASED IT FOR A CUSTOMER, AS I DO ENGRAVING AND HE WANTED THE LID ENGRAVED & PREFERED STAINLESS STEEL TO ALUMINUM. HE IS VERY PLEASED WITH THE OVER ALL PURCHASE AND IS HAPPY WITH THE PAN. AND HAS USED IT SENSE HIS PURCHASE
Nov 12, 2010
I love this pan! Bakes evenly, doesn't rust, and the pan and lid have remained shiny even after two years of use. Highly recommend!
May 10, 2010
My husband (now Ex) and I love this pan. He uses it for his brownies so I am leaving it with him and buying a new one for myself. :-)
Dec 10, 2009
Unless they have changed this item I bougt one sveral years ago for my wife and it has held up better than others we bought at local store it still has good looks and is our favorite cake, cobler and dripper pan.
Nov 27, 2009
I am disappointed with the lid on this cake pan. It doesn't fit tight and it has very sharp edges.
Jun 5, 2009
Returned pan. It is not heavy duty. It is lightweight and the center panel on bottom easily bends out and in as it's cleaned or carried with batter into the oven.
