A few years ago I purchased one of these large stoneware dog bowls to use as an upstairs water bowl for my dog. I like it because it seems to keep the water cooler longer. Now a few years later, I have a German Shepherd puppy. This wee beastie's main goal each day is to create as much havoc as she can. This includes removing the two quart stainless steel bowls out of her raised feeding station (whether they are full of food and water or not) and dragging them all over my house. So I ordered two more of these crockery dog bowls to shut her down. They are so big and heavy that she cannot move them. They are super easy to clean and I love the way they look. Now the food and water stays right where it should. Problem solved!
