NSF Certified Water Filter: For 1-2 People

Forget expensive bottled water. You can enjoy filtered drinking water just about anywhere with this Stainless Steel Gravity Filter System! No plumbing or electricity required, just fill the upper chamber with untreated water, and the filter will reduce common contaminants, like chlorine, organics and lead from your water.

SHIPPING INFO: These products cannot be shipped to California, Iowa or Wisconsin because of state regulations.

*Ultra Sterasyl Filters are Tested and Certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53, 401 in the British Berkefeld SS2 Ultra Sterasyl for the reduction of Particulate (class 1) Turbidity, Cysts, Microplastics and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372.

Note: Not for salt water.

The manufacturer does not recommend using this system with water softened by a water softener, as excess salt may shorten the lifespan of the elements.

Product Highlights

Features of the Duchess Gravity Filter:
  • Includes 2 Ultra Sterasyl Filters - This top-rated ceramic filter element incorporates granular activated carbon and media to efficiently reduce a range of contaminants including trace organics, enhanced organics, pharmaceuticals, chlorine, lead, microplastics and PFAS. It helps improve taste and odor, too. NSF Certified*
  • Compatible with the Ultra Fluoride Filters - Sold separately. (You can only use either the Ultra Sterasyl OR Ultra Fluoride filters, not both at the same time.)
  • Ideal for Smaller Families - Serves 1-2 people comfortably. 1.58 gal capacity (6 L).
  • Portable and Extremely Durable - Great for camping! High grade polished 304 stainless steel won't break or impart flavor to water.
  • Easy to Store - When not in use, the upper chamber fits into the lower chamber for space-saving storage.
  • Made in the UK - High quality! British Berkefeld has been making water filters since 1826.

Care Instructions for Filter Elements:

Over time, you may notice black buildup on your Ultra Sterasyl filter elements, especially if you live in a cloudy water area. You can clean the filter element to help restore its flow. Just remove the element and scrub the surface evenly with a clean abrasive kitchen pad under running water or in a bowl, ensuring that the open ended plastic mount is clear of the water, to avoid contamination.

The ceramic and carbon filter piece is biodegradable; plastic is recyclable (depending on your state's regulations).

What does NSF Certified mean?

NSF certification means that the product meets strict standards for public health protection imposed by NSF International, such as extensive product testing and material analysis.

Ultra Sterasyl Filters are NSF Certified for:

  • NSF/ANSI 42 - Drinking Water Treatment Units - Aesthetic Effects
  • NSF/ANSI 53 - Drinking Water Treatment Units - Health Effects
  • NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 - Drinking Water Components - Lead Content

Specifications:

  • Number of Filter Elements Included: 2 (system holds max. 2 filters)
  • Lower Chamber Capacity: 1.45 gal (5.5 L)
  • Flow Rate:
  • 1 filter element: 0.29 gal per hour (1.1 L)
  • 2 filter elements: 0.58 gal per hour (2.2 L)
  • Assembled: 18.1"H x 7.1"W
  • Packaged Carton: 12.8"L x 8.1"W x 8.3"H

Helpful Hints: Your first use of the Ultra Sterasyl Filter will be slow. No worries - this is normal. After a few cycles (after the internal carbon block is thoroughly flushed), the speed will improve. The pores on the ceramic filter element are smaller than other filters on the market (100 times thinner than a follicle of hair), but this not only filters the suspended solids out of your drinking water properly, it also allows extra exposure time to the carbon and media.

Water flow is affected by the quality of water supply, so flow rate will vary. The more filter elements you use, the quicker the flow rate. This unit holds up to 2 filter elements.

For best results, replace the Ultra Sterasyl filter every 6 months (or every 400 gallons). Keep extra filter elements on hand, so you'll have everything you need. (We sell replacement filters separately.)

This unit comes standard with the plastic spigot. We do offer a stainless steel tap you can add on (sold separately).
