Woodsman's Belt Axe: Portable Size, USA Made!
Discover dependable quality you can rely on again and again. Our Woodsmen's Belt Axe is completely made in the USA, from the sharp carbon steel axe head to the Amish-made hickory handle. With its 17" handle, it's the perfect size for splitting kindling, putting in your camp pack or canoe, or splitting firewood to fit into your wood stove.
Product Highlights
- Same quality as our Lumberman axe but compact for the campsite and smaller wood cutting jobs
- Axe head is made of 1050 carbon steel from New York, hardened to Rockwell 56
- Steel hardened to Rockwell 56 combines good edge holding ability with ease of sharpening. And the cutting edge resists chipping. (Most axes are only hardened to between Rockwell 52 and Rockwell 55.)
- 17" smooth crafted hickory handle made by an Amish family a few miles from our store. Hickory is much stronger than ash or maple (commonly used by other axe makers).
- Comes with a leather cover for the head made from USA cowhide. (It protects the edge from damage if it bangs against other steel tools in the bed of your truck. Be very careful putting it on and off because the edge is very sharp)
- USA made
