It’s cold outside (at least here in Ohio), and like me, you probably don’t like leaving your warm bed in the morning. But the thought of a hot breakfast and coffee can make it better.
Here are some ideas for a few cozy breakfasts to take away the chill and start your day off well.
Waffles

With seven people in our household to feed every morning, waffles aren’t a regular because of the time it takes to make them; but when I do they are so worth it! My favorite recipe to use are the so-called “Waffles of Insane Greatness”. Yes, they are that good! And to top it off, you don’t just have to stick with maple syrup; try yogurt, fresh fruit or one of my all-time faves, cranberry sauce.

Muffins are a great quick breakfast hot out of the oven (or baked ahead and popped in the microwave, we won’t tell.) Some of our favorites here are blueberry, banana and lemon. Freezing them is a good way to stay in supply without having to bake as often.

Oatmeal
Oatmeal is super simple and is a great base for flavors or adding in pretty much anything you like (bacon yes, hot sauce no.) Other toppings include fresh (or frozen) fruit, maple syrup, cinnamon, and peanut butter.
