Fancy Flavored Coffee Creamers, Made Right At Home

Coffee creamers come in a wide variety of flavors these days.  Unfortunately those flavored creamers also tend to be full of preservatives and chemical stabilizers.

I have a family full of people with allergies and sensitivities to some of those chemicals, so I started exploring ways to make my own flavored creamers with more natural ingredients. It’s gone well, and I’m happy to share my recipe with you.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart half & half
  • 3/4 cup raw cane sugar
  • Flavoring(s) of your choice
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 pint half & half
  • 1/4 cup raw cane sugar
  • Flavoring(s) of your choice

Directions

  1. Place the half & half and sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
  2. Add any dry flavorings such as cocoa powder or cinnamon.
  3. Warm over medium-low heat.
  4. Stir frequently until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  5. Do not allow the mixture to boil.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Add liquid flavorings or extracts.
  8. Stir well.
  9. Pour into a clean glass bottle while still warm.
  10. Refrigerate promptly.
  11. Shake before use if using cocoa-based flavors.
  12. Place the sweetened condensed milk, half & half, and sugar in a saucepan.
  13. Add any dry flavorings.
  14. Warm gently over medium-low heat.
  15. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  16. Do not boil.
  17. Remove from heat.
  18. Add liquid flavorings.
  19. Stir well.
  20. Pour into a glass bottle.
  21. Refrigerate promptly.
