Going out and picking the baskets of tomatoes and peppers, the fruits of my labor that I've watched blossom and grow from seeds to sprouts to vegetables, might have been my favorite part. It's such a proud feeling harvesting food that you worked to produce. Making the salsa was very fun, too. Chopping, seasoning, and mixing up the colorful, bright, tasty ingredients was a project I found so enjoyable, I didn't want to stop and almost ended up making more salsa than we could possibly eat.
Once the salsa was done, I loved giving little jars of it to my loved ones for them to enjoy. And of course, eating it with chips or with my Mexican food has been great! If you want to enjoy your own homemade salsa, you don't need a garden to do it! All you need is a grocery store or farmer's market, and a little free time to get cooking. Here's my favorite recipe for making my own fresh salsa. Enjoy!
