Condiment

Rich, robust and sweet, this simple-to-make sauce can be slathered on ribs, chicken or pork while grilling, or added to meats for oven-baking. Will keep in the refrigerator for several weeks.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup blackstrap molasses
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup ketchup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan, whisking together until smooth. Bring to a low boil, stirring often. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened. Let cool and use immediately or store in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.
