The chain on my GEM pump broke, so I ordered an entirely new chair for it from Lehman's. I was given clear instructions for determining how much chain I needed. I had several new buckets on hand, so I used them and several of the old ones. The pump's down pipe was badly rusted and no longer useful. Lehman's could not supply me a new down pipe, but they said that in their new pumps, which are modeled on the old GEM pumps, they used 1 1/2 inch pralone pipe. They suggested that I could do the same. I did, but it took some ingenuity to figure out how to match a piece of pralone pipe to replace the disintegrating galvanized down spout type pipe. Lehman's customer service personnel were happy to talk with me on the phone about these things. It would be helpful for Lehman's to offer adapting fittings to make it easier to replace rusted out down pipes with pralone pipe. I will send some photos of my renovated GEM pump and its new platform. I am glad that Lehman's decided to pick up where the GEM company left off to help use keep these wonderful old pumps going. Keep up the good work.
