I have used one of the original slicers, what difference it made when the now aluminum guide was made of steel. It was a great deal sturdier. However, I love this slicer! Yes, I bought the newer one knowing that it is not made like the original, because it still nice to have within reach for a quick slicing of a tomato for sandwiches. I did contact customer service and suggested they investigate the improvement of the slicer, was told they would happily suggest the improvement to their buyer. Always make your voice heard, but be polite. Rudeness rarely gets satisfactory results.

I believe my mother-in-law gave me mine probably 40 years ago and it's still wonderful. Have a friend who keeps wanting to borrow, so I'm ordering one for her. Can't think anything else would work better for bread and butter pickles!!

not only does it not slice well, the platform that you rest the vegetable on for slicing keeps sliding down while slicing. instructions says you have to press on tab when slicing to hold in place. so one hand holds the slicer down, one hand to hold the vegetable, and press the tab with your third hand. tools are supposed to make work easier, not more complicated. threw mine in trash today

I really enjoyed the way this amazing product works, Iﾒve tried it today and saved me 5 minutes in preparing my food! Another perfect way of saving time would be on how to use the slicer to chop fruits and vegetable perfectly. I bought my Mandoline Slicer straight from Amazon, Iﾒm very happy with it. There is a great deal 25% off sale price, you have to go through this web page: https://globalinsandeals.clickfunnels.com/special-offerf3iy15hd

I was so excited to have found a replacement for the slicer that's been in our family for 50+ years but is now getting dull...wrong! It was so dull right out of the box and wouldn't slice through carrots or potatoes; it ripped them instead. I was so disappointed, I actually switched back to using my old one, which seemed 'razor sharp' in comparison. Very unhappy, unfortunately.

had one years ago & thought this was my wonderful replacement... finally found it but NO! the tray that designates the thickness to slice does not hold. If you put your fingers & thumb where you are shown to, the metal is so sharp you can cut your fingers worse than the blade. Can slice & slices very well but tray you slide on does not hold when the pressure is place on veggie and slices are not uniform. Have to keep moving it back into place. Wish it were as good and dependable as my old one (lost in a move).

My Dad had a slicer like this for years. I have a Cuisinart and several other mandolins yet find that since buying this slicer I use it most often. Great slicing and easy clean up. I love it. I have bought several as gifts and everyone who received it loves it too. I would definitely recommend this product!

I ordered this hoping that it was like the one my mom used more than fifty years ago. WRONG. It's a cheap wanna be slicer. Doesn't sit level on the counter, slides all around (dangerous with the sharp blade), notches don't work worth a toot. They slip with every single slice, so slices come out uneven. Just easier to use a good knife. I put it in the recycle bin.

I've only had this for a couple of weeks now, but a few things are obvious: Blade is adequately sharp, but the notches on which the thickness is set, are not level from side to side and aren't deep enough to hold the rest in place. The rest isn't flat either, so even with the use of a lot of elbow grease to hold the rest platform in the (non)notches, the slices do not have a consistent thickness. I think with some cleaner notches, or better yet, tension screws for more thickness possibilities, and some thicker level parts, this would be awesome. Currently it's got the built in China quality and feel. Not great.

Pretty much useless. I used it once, tried to slice apples. Worthless. Not worth the postage to return. Gave it to Goodwill. Save your money and put it towards a better quality one.

I too have one of these slicers from 30+ years ago. My kids are always after me for mine. I bought three of these so they can have their own. You have to be careful because the blade is extremely sharp and it's easy to get on a roll and go too fast but this is still the best slicer EVER.

I had purchased one of these slicers about 30 years ago and the blade was beginning to get a little dull. This is by far the best slicer available. I use it a lot when canning my veggies, especially when making pickles.

I have one of these from wayyyyyyyyy back. Yes it does slip but you have to hold it tight like the other people have stated. It is an awesome slicer. It`s very sharp. I have picked up a few at sales for my 2 girls and now I'm buying one for my son who wants one. I wouldn't trade mine for any on the market. You can take that to the bank.

OH MY GOSH. I LOVE THIS. I SLICE EVERYTHING FROM STRAWBERRIES, MUSHROOMS, ONION, CUCUMBERS, ETC. WITH IT. YOU CAN KEEP THE NEW FOOD PROCESSORS. I GO FOR THIS EVERYTIME.

I was looking forward to this coming so I could make my pickles. Once I opened the box it was easy to see that it wouldn't rest flat on the table. A quick call to the customer service and another one was on the way. Too bad that this was made in China even though the blade was extremely sharp. Quality control wasn't watching closely with the one that was sent to me . . .

Save your money. I had a big bag of onions to slice, and after a couple of onions I gave up. The blade is too thick and too blunt to slice them well. Much more dull than a food processor blade. Take your $8 and spend more on your next Santoku knife, it'll be better invested.

Got my slicer today and have already recommended it to friends! Very good quality for the price!!! We have been dehydrating and this will be a lifesaver to get everything sliced the same size!

I inherited one of these from my Mom, who bought hers in the 1950s. I love it! Yes, it slips easily to a different slicing size while using (as one reviewer noted), but I use one hand to stabilize the slicer, with my fingers holding the legs of the moveable piece at the desired groove, while the other hand holds the veggie, and that solves the problem. I have tried other mandolines and find this one the easiest, safest, and most reliable, not to mention easiest to clean. Whenever I make a new kitchen friend, I give this as a Christmas or birthday gift.

Our whole family has these. It is one of the most useful and handy tools that any of us have used to slice veggies. You do have to be careful until you get used to it not to get your fingers but once you get the hang of it, this will be the only slicer you use. I am very excited about finding this site because after our house fire I have not been able to find this product. Thank you!!

I am very disappointed in the slicer. It won't stay in the notches, some thick slices, some thin. Very dangerous when it changes on it's one. I give it a minus five.

Best french fry - home fries potato/carrot (adds a beautiful touch to carrot cakes!) slicer anywhere! Period.

Wonderful! This would be a bargain at three times the price. I don't know why someone would pay $100.00 for one of the fancy European ones.

This item is scary to me. I have used it, but not often. Don't use it with tomatoes or anything soft or you'll have a mess. Works with potatoes, but I don't know what else. I find it a little scary because I can't use the tool that comes with it and worry for my fingers.

My mother had the ORIGINAL, and it was great. I got one of these thinking it would be just as good. WAS I WRONG!!! Dull right out of the box.

A poor man's mandolin. Have had one for 40 years. Easy to use - Easy to clean - slices like a dream. If you could never see spending $ 150.00 on a mandolin - this is your answer.

My father first purchased this veggie slicer in 1978. It was passed down when he passed away. My son-in-law kept trying to steal mine, so I finally found it at your site. Guess what he is getting for Christmas. Wonderful item. Just be careful with blade.

I have owned one of these slicers for about 20 years and I highly recommend it. I recently purchased a new one for a gift.

I have had a Feemster's Vegetable Slicer for many years. It is a very handy tool to use when you want to slice potatoes, cucumbers, onions, carrots...or whatever! quickly. I have used mine alot, and the blade is still sharp.
