Using this since October of 2012 in a 1968 mason farm house. Using good seasoned wood this provides beautiful even heat. Takes a while to come to temp if just starting but takes even longer to cool off! When I leave I choke it down, when I come back I open the choke and through a couple logs on. Now my wife gets mad if the forced air furnace is on because she likes the radiant heat from the soapstone wood stove better! We make a hearty soup or stew every weekend on it and never scorched or burned one yet, always a perfect meal!
