hickory wood around back of upper oak slates that oak is nailed to has split down center 4 inches long and two other small splits on same piece of wood. otherwise it is a beautiful chair. I will try epoxy to stop split.

I've had one of these Amish rocking chairs in my home for over 40 years. My husband actually bought mine from his Amish friends to surprise me when our daughter was born. They weren't available to the general public back then. I rocked two babies in mine. You won't be sorry to own this and you'll marvel at the craftsmanship and beauty. And Yes, it has nails but NONE ever popped.

My rocker came with my husband when we married as his parents purchased one for each of their children. It's one of my most favorite pieces of furniture. Great for rocking babies and it's not heavy so you can move it easily. I've had two back surgeries and it's my 'go to' chair when I need to be comfortable. We actually had a small one made for our daughter's 1st birthday and had matching pads made to match our furniture. Definitely a family heirloom to cherish. I've been rockin' it for 29 years! ;-)

Purchased this rocker as a Christmas gift for my Granddaughter that was expecting our great granddaughter. She loves it and will cherish it for ever. Love passing on a American made treasure.

I just got one of these rockers, it's gorgeous, but it's only nailed together- I wish it was screwed together. Hoping that the nails won't pop over time. All else looks OK. Thanks, Lehmans!

This rocker is extremely comfortable! And it looks great outside on the porch or inside! Great for rocking little babies to sleep
