Disappointed

What did I do wrong? I put a freshly washed head of greenleaf lettuce in the bag and when I went to use it a few days later, it was totally limp and unusable.
Lehman's says: Hello! Was your bag a bit damp or was it completely dry? It helps if the sac is a bit damp.
LOVE these!!

On my second one...and my mom is on her third..this is over 10 years of buying them. I dont understand the bad reviews..perhaps they didnt follow the instructions? My lettuce or spinach stays crisp and fresh WAY longer using these bags!!
These are great!

I love these! I have tried several other types of vegetable bags and these are effective in keeping leafy greens fresh the longest. I left 2 heads of red leaf lettuce in one of these bags in the refrigerator when I went on vacation and 11 days later, the lettuce looked just like the day I bought it. It works best if produce is put in somewhat wet. I love that these are large and 100% cotton. The only recommendation I have would be to make these bags a darker color because although they wash well, stains can remain.
Don't waste your money

I bought this thinking it would keep our lettuce fresh and not turn brown to fast. 2 days after putting lettuce in the bag it was brown. I followed the instructions too!

LOVE this product! I'm always looking for something to put my lettuce in to keep it fresh. This really does the trick. My fresh lettuce out of the garden has stayed fresh for almost 2 weeks with no wilt or anything. I did wash the lettuce and put it in the bag and I tossed it around which got the bag damp. This must be the key. I am going to order 3 more to use as gifts.

I wasn't sure about this product but decided to try it. I hate wasting paper towels to dry veggies and don't like using my dish towels either. It's nice to have something just for veggies. So far I've only used it for lettuce, but it's nice to pull it out and have crisp, clean lettuce ready to go. I did have it wilt after a couple of days but maybe I needed to get the bag wet, too.

Decoy is the chef in the family, and he loves - loves - loves the Salad Sac. It keeps delicate as well as hardy lettuces crisp; green beans stay fresh and crunchy; radishes stay crisp; even cucumbers stay firm. One note: After washing, the drawstrings pulled into the tunnel. I sewed a large button on each knotted end of the string and -- the sacs were perfect! Decoy highly recommends the Salad Sac, and so do I!

This product has revolutionized my produce shopping! We live in a rural area, so we try to limit our trips to the market. With the Salad Sac, I can keep even delicate cilantro for a week, as long as the bag is damp, as another poster mentioned. More durable leafy veggies and herbs will last two weeks, easily, most of the time! I'm sooooooo happy with this product. I have two and I recommend it all the time to other people. It will even help perk up some types of produce if they're a little wilty! WELL worth the price, due to the quality of the fabric and simplicity of use!

I had high hopes for this product, but I think it's the worst thing I've ever ordered from Lehman's. If you want wilted salad greens in a day, use this. If you want to keep them fresher, put them in a plastic ziploc bag.

So far, it seems to be keeping my veges crisp. I'm impressed!

I like mine to keep my lettuce fresh. I learned the hard way that things that have seeds ie. cucumbers and tomatoes can rot in the bag due to their softness and seeds. I recommend only using lettuces, cabbages, carrots, radishes, and any hard none seed vegetable. I wouldn't even put onion or garlic, might go bad, and smell up bad. But for the hard stuff it's great! Remember not to use fabric softener when washing or it won't hold the water to keep veggies fresh.

I had tried other products designed to keep the produce fresh, but the Salad Sac is the best. No more having to wash and dry lettuce - I just wash it and put it straight in the sack. It stays fresh and crisp for several days.

Very plush terry. That surprised me, since others I'd seen were a different fabric. I have a salad spinner, which is great for washing, but not really salad ready dry when it comes out. This bag really does the trick, and holds the greens at least a day (probably more if you dampen the bag).

I am a CSR @ Lehman's. I just love this product, as it really does keep your lettuce fresh, but you must keep the bag damp.
