Denim jeans are tough and durable but they don't last forever. The volunteers at MCC* Connections in Kidron, Ohio, recycle old jeans by making denim rugs after the knees wear out.
  • Rugs soak up mud and dirt while protecting floors
  • When dirty, just wash like any pair of jeans
  • Hand-woven on a loom - no two alike
  • Approximate size 26"Wx48"L, 3 lb

*Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) is a non-profit organization that helps people in need in America and around the world. If you want to help, you can send old jeans (100% cotton denim only) to: (US Mail) MCC Connections, PO Box 19, Kidron, OH 44636; (UPS/FedEX) MCC Connections, 4080 Kidron Road, Dalton, OH 44618

TOUGH WOVEN DENIM RUG DESCRIPTION
Just down the road from Lehman’s, you'll find the hardworking volunteers of MCC Connections. Recycling old donated jeans, they weave the denim by hand on a vintage two-harness loom, turning out these gorgeous rugs. They use every single inch of the jeans they can salvage.

"This rug exceeded the quality I was expecting. I am very happy with the durability. My cats like to use my rugs as sliders in my kitchen. This rug stays in place better than other rugs because it is heavier. I will order more even though the price is on the high side. They are worth the expense."

"I have used these rugs for years and years. I have 5 dogs and often end up washing these rugs on a daily basis since I live in the very wet and muddy Pacific Northwest. These rugs last longer than any other rug I have tried. They're bloody expensive, but so worth it."

"This rug far exceeded my expectations. It is well made, and beautiful. Just what I was looking for and made in USA!!! I might get 3 more and have them sewn together to cover a larger area, I like it that well!!!!"

"This is the best rug I have ever owned! My teenage boys race dirtbikes, so they always come in with muddy/dirty shoes. I put it in front of the door, and it has saved so much time in mopping the floors! I highly recommend this rug for anyone!"

"It's a beautiful, well-made, tough rug. My only criticism is that I wish it were bigger, or came in a larger size."

"I received this rug today and I'm returning it for a full refund as I'm very disappointed with the quality. It looks like it came from a dollar store. The edges of the rug are frayed, and I fear that it's going to get even more frayed in the washing machine. Either they're not making these rugs as well as they used to, or else we were sent a used rug. In addition, there is no anti-skid backing, so there's the danger of people sliding on it and falling."
