" When I first received the hat, I thought "Oh no! The crown is too high." I have changed my opinion and like everything about the hat, now. The crown is a bit over 5 inches on the highest part of the sides. Remember that Indy Jones' fedora had an unusually high 5 inch crown. Typical crowns are around 4 inches, in my experience. I had understood that medium crowns were best for block heads like mine. What helps very much with aesthetics is little or no taper on this hat. Round or square faces should never wear a hat with substantial taper. Long headed and long faced folks seem to be able to wear any type of taper and the highest of crowns without looking silly. Keep in mind that Stetson designed his Boss of the Plains with a very high crown to insulate from extreme heat and cold. The beauty of this high crown is that pulled down snugly to the ears, the crown will not touch a sweaty head. Combined with the synthetic sweat band, the designer has increased the service life before the hat gets grubby looking from sweat. Interesting crown is a combination telescope and center dent. Fine craftsmanship gives pride of ownership, even for what is a relatively inexpensive straw hat. The nearly outlandishly high crown, combined with a plain but elegant style creates a pleasing image of some sort of farmer-adventurer, which may explain why I can't avoid an expression of smug self-satisfaction while I am wearing it. Arrived carefully packed in paper by an expert packer. I highly recommend the hat and the vendor. Hat seemed a tiny bit snug at first try, but a few minutes later, right on the money for a large(7 3/8 US, 59 Euro)I think my head had to shape it from an oval into a square. "

"Bought this hat for my nephew to replace on that had originally belonged to my father. It fits him perfectly,it is beautifully constructed and we love that it is American made. That is very important to us."

"Very happy with my hat! Simple, well made, cool, light weight and keeps the sun out of my eyes. Would have preferred the seams on the sweat band and outer edge were at the rear of the hat vice the front, but this hat is 100% utilitarian for me and for that purpose, it is excellent. You cannot beat it for the price, plus it is American made."

"Great hat. It does not fly off in the wind because the vinyl sweatband adheres slightly to the head. It is sized to fit well. Good protection from sunburn and glare. It is so comfortable that I forget I'm wearing it."

"Good product. We look for and buy American-made products like this. Nice breathing strip. Good sun protection. Note: generously sized - would be helpful to have more specific information about the actual head size (in inches). Regrettably returned for size reasons."

"The hat is constructed nicely. The fit awful. I order the XL-WAYYYY too big. I then returned it for the L-WAYYYY too small."
