In the heart of scenic Amish Country, Sarah and her daughter Martha handcraft these charming teepee tents. Their venture began as a gift for Sarah’s grandchildren. “We wanted to make something different for them, you know. Something they could play with for a long while.”
Now this local Amish family is busy at work, sewing and building with some help from Martha’s husband, who makes the poplar support poles for them. The women hand-hammer heavy upholstery tacks to attach the tent’s fabric to the poles.
