"This is so beautiful; really it's a functional work of art! :) Works beautifully, even with a surprisingly light amount of pressure; I guess hence the name 'Rub Lite'. ;) I learned from a video by a lady named 'Pretend Farm Girl', so she inspired me to take the plunge into a washboard. I live in an apartment, with a laundry room in the basement with two very small washers and only one dryer. Both washers are broken now. Even when they're not broken, one load of laundry is very expensive, with very poor quality washers. (Low capacity, short cycle) So this explains my foray into handwashing. I still use regular laundry detergent and scent beads, augmented with Borax and washing soda, and I spot treat with pink Zote. (i'm intoxicated by the appearance and fragrance;) I use the breathing mobile washer in the general sense, and the washboard for shirt cuffs, armpits, pants cuffs, kitchen towels, etc; anything that needs a boost. I also invested in a Calliger wringer, which is built like a tank, and really amazing. I feel quite certain that my handwashing gets my clothes much cleaner than a top load washer without question. The frontload washers probably do a pretty darn good job though. An additional tip would be to let time be your friend; between initial agitation in the soapy water and final agitation, soak the clothing for 20 minutes or more, feeling free to additionally agitate if you're in the vicinity. Take care, and you'll love this washboard! :)"
