ROMA® FOOD MILL DESCRIPTION
Advanced, yet simple-You won't believe it until you try it. Just drop any soft fruit or vegetable into hopper and turn the crank. (Hard foods like apples need to be steamed until soft.) The Roma® Food Mill separates the strained juice and pulp from the skin and seeds. Make tomato/vegetable juice, applesauce, mashed potatoes, refried beans and baby food with standard screen/auger. Process grapes, berries, pumpkins, squash or salsa with optional accessories.

How it works-As the auger turns, it draws fruit into a screened cone where it squeezes out the juice and pulp. Thoroughly wrings out the skin, then automatically expels it with the seeds.

No peeling or coring-Unlike common food mills, the Roma® completely removes skin and seeds from juice and pulp. Continuously discharges waste through a separate opening so you don't need to stop to empty strainer.

Saves hours! It's the fastest strainer available because the oversized auger means less cranking. Extra-large capacity hopper (10"OD x 4"D) for added convenience. A huge time-saver when canning!

Long lasting- Stainless steel screens can't react with food and won't rust, chip or tarnish. Screens twist into place and are held secure with a flanged setscrew. A 4" long waste funnel snaps onto the end of the screen and allows for more working space while expelling skins and seeds farther away from the juice and pulp. Handle and squirt guard slide and snap into place with no fasteners needed.

Versatile Dual Mounting System- Mounts virtually anywhere. Clamps to surfaces up to 3" thick or mounts with powerful suction to a flat surface. It's your choice!

Quality made- Uses modern materials for long life and smooth operation. Nylon auger and bushing eliminates metal-to-metal contact for easier cranking. Dent-proof hopper, plunger and squirt guard can't stain or absorb odors. Solid cast aluminum body. Disassembles easily for cleaning. Comes with standard screen, standard auger and owner's manual. Stands 16-1/2"H, 4-1/2 lb, imported.

"4 bushels of apples processed in 4 hours, plus 30 minutes cleanup. We've been using ours for about 10 years. Fantastic product. No need to core the apples; just quarter, cook, and grind with skins on. Lovely pink applesauce!"

"I purchased this machine in Aug. to see if it would work/save time for making my pie filling for my Concord Grape pies I sell at a friends orchard. Not only does this machine work as advertised but even better!! It has saved me MANY hours in the prep time for the grapes & I actually get MORE pulp & juice than I did w/ a Foley food mill. Almost double."

"Just got it a month ago and have used it twice, processing a total of 5 boxes of roma tomatoes. Fantastic! I can't believe how quickly it went and not having to blanch, peel and cut...heaven! We prefer a thicker sauce, so I got the salsa kit as well, and that's the screen we used."

"I opened the box, had it set up, and was milling tomatoes in less than 20 minutes. My first time ever too. We milled 10 Gallons of tomato juice in 3 hours. I love this thing - it's one of my favorite toys."

"Made tomato sauce this weekend. Started out by taking off the skins the "old fashioned way" by immersing in hot water then ice cold, and peeling. Then, my wife said, "Wait, according to the instructions, all you have to do is throw the entire tomato into the bin and process. What a wonder! This is the best product ever and saved us hours of time. I read the problem one review had concerning leaking between the strainer and the body. We had the same problem for a minute but discovered we had not installed the strainer all the way counter clockwise. Once that was corrected, the Roma Food Mill worked excellent. This product has my endorsement."

"I made applesauce for two years with a Foley Mill - lots of work! Then my mother-in-law lent me a Roma Food Mill. The Foley now sits in the basement gathering dust. Two weeks ago we made about 80 quarts of applesauce from 6 bushels of apples in just under five hours! Fantastic product."

"I purchased my Lehman's Best Food Mill 2 weeks ago. So, far I have made tomato juice and applesauce. I had used a neighbors food mill many years ago and liked it. Didn't know if they were still made, was excited that your company offered them for sale. Also, I bought the 4 piece accessory kit. Canning season is about over for now, but next season the possibilities for use will unlimited."

"This product is amazing! We had been putting up tomato juice with our vintage food mill and it took hours. The Roma Food Mill cut our time to less than half! Next we are trying applesauce and apple butter! A wonderful product, exceeding our expectations and very well made. Also love the fact you can get spare parts through Lehman's."

"A very well designed food-mill. As I was using it the first time, I kept saying: "They thought of EVERYTHING!" I would give a 4.5 bulb if I could though because I noticed two things: 1) During pressing about a gallon of tomato juice, I needed to re-tighten the camp over 5 times because the food mill went loose on my formica cabinet top (the air suction must be leaking a bit, or I didn't do something right. 2) although the milling went really fast, the seeds and skin contained quite a bit of wetness. I didn't find any way to tighten the end of the screen where that part comes out. My previous tomato press did have a way for me to set how much of the juice is pressed out before the dry parts are released."

"I bought my Roma last week and my best friend and I used it the other night to make pizza sauce. She was raised in rural West Virginia and her family has always canned all their food. She was totally amazed at how it cut the canning time in half. We both loved it. She is now purchasing one as a Christmas present for her daughter and son-in-law who do so much canning. Wonderful product!"

"I am a CSR @ Lehman's. I just love this product, really saves you time. I just made my applesauce using the SALSA screen. Made it chunkier, however had to make sure all the seeds were out of the apples before cooking. Just cut your apples into quarters & make a fine slit across the core. Yum!"

"This food strainer is the absolute best product on the market. It makes short work out of preparing tomatoes, apples and other things for canning. I use it for all tomato sauce products such as katsup, salsa.. and also for apple sauce as well. If you are a "canner" this is a must have product."

"made pasta sauce - initially used the tomato screen - but was losing a lot of the tomato meat with the seeds. then ran it through the salsa screen and again through the tomato screen - had to do it twice but stopped losing so much of the good stuff. It cut down on processing time and cut down on the heat (didn't need to peel or core them) also have the motor attachment."

"The mill arrived quickly. I have made applesauce and vegetable juice (Bloody mary mix) I put the skins back in each time and got a bit more. I love it! I am worried though that the plastic cup which spits out the skins will break after I put it on and off a few times, but other than that , it is awesome."

"Used the food mill last weekend to puree fresh tomatoes for spaghetti sauce. My dad used to borrow a really old one, and I thought I'd get my own. It's mostly great! Here's the not so great: it kept losing suction when I was really grinding, and the clamp kept falling off too; I had to run through the pulp at least twice to extract all the juice, and I wonder if the plastic auger is part of the problem. BUT... I now have 10 gallons of sauce in my freezer so in the winter, we'll be eating fresh spaghetti sauce! I WILL use it again, overall, it's pretty darn good!"

"This is easy to put together, easy to use. Time to make the ketchup! After milling there is still so much tomato in waste bowl. The onion slices were passed through whole. It was put together properly, so I know that was not the problem. Called Lehman's.Their satisfaction guaranteed policy really is that easy! I have never had to return anything to them before. I was a little worried, since I bought it 2 months ago and have just now used it. So, 2 stars for Roma, 5 stars for the Lehman company."

"I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the parts of the Roma Food Mill. Plastic auger, food masher and the extension for the food waste. Plus the stainless still body isn't anything like the solid metal I used years ago. The handle kept coming out and applesaue leaked between the strainer and the body. It did a pretty good job of separating the apple parts but the screen kept catching fibrous parts of the apple but overall the applesauce that came out of the screen was nice. I just thought it would be better built, I did like the large hopper, it held a lot of fruit."
